maple into maple full splice

this is a full splice maple into maple one piece cue that i made into a fun cue. no rings with a 1/2 inch hole in the shaft, how long before i explode the shaft?
look hard in the last photo, you can see the splice

i did not make the full splice, these are photos of the pool cue i was talking about last week. it was a old one piece cue i found in a batch of cues i bought for conversion.
i thought it was interesting being maple into maple.

Thats a keeper. I bet it plays well to. When I was dialing in my butt taper bar, I turned a piece of maple. I was going to stain it but it looked pretty the way it was, I left it. I did it all in one shot and was lucky, to this day its as straight as an arrow.
