Hi again,

I am typing this from New Orleans after an experience of a lifetime. About 9 months ago Mike, "Jager Monster" on AZB, advertised that he was looking for a trade of pool cues for the right to ride in a Mardi Gras parade including: membership in Crew de Zeus; costume; a spot on the float; plenty of throws (cups, beads, stuffed animals, etc.); and the ability to see Mardi Gras as a local. So we struck a deal, I sent him the cues and waited for this day...all I can say is WOW!

Mike & his wife Bridget went above and beyond to make me & my wife feel welcome and a part of their huge yearly celebration. They camp out at night to claim a spot for the 30 or so friends and relatives that will be joining them to enjoy the parades. Mike & his friend Larry grilled and smoked the 1st day: Tri Tip; pork tenderloin (my wife's favorite); 3 types of ribs; chicken; pulled pork; gumbo; sausages; and I'm sure I'm forgetting something. They even had Diet Coke for us (2 of the few that wasn't drinking harder stuff all day).

2nd day we rode (all day great experience), which was more than the once-in-a-lifetime experience we had hoped for. the 3rd day was fat tuesday so we watched from the sidelines again. We are so tired at the moment we can't imagine doing this for 2 weeks.

If Mike ever offers this deal again, I urge those that can take advantage of it, to do it. Mike will do everything in his power to make sure he over delivers a great time for you. I know he did for me and my wife, Diane. Thank you Mike & Bridget for the great time and being a man of your word. Oh, one more thing, Mike has earned his name on AZ...he can put away the Jager Bombs like nobody I have ever seen :).

Mardi Gras ain't no Rose Parade!!!!!! :)

Now you see first hand how we do it down here in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Glad you had a great time. Did you get a chance to go to Buffalo's Billiards, in Metairie, Louisiana? That would have added more fun to your stay in our great City. My home.... Sweet..... Home.
Regards,
Lock N Load.

It was pleasure to meet you and Diane and to be your host... It was a pretty awesome experience for Bridget and I as well being a part of your 1st Mardi Gras Experience. Because of the great time we had meeting you and Diane I am going to offer this opprtunity again.

So anyone wanting to trade a high end cue to experience Mardi Gras as a local and ride in a Mardi Gras Krew send me a pm or call me 504 417 3444. It really is an incredible experience. I have a couple spots available.

Thanks. We went by Buffalo's to check it out, but it was close on Fat Tuesday :(. Mike did meet me at Corner Pocket & he called JoeyA to meet us. We all had a great time - however, I couldn't get used to the smoke again in my lifetime. New Orleans is a great town for sure.

It was great visiting with you Dave. Glad you had a good time. Wish we would have had more time to play pool. Maybe next time.

St. Patrick Day parade is just around the corner and then we have the Irish-Italian Parade in Metairie where everyone who knows someone who is Irish or Italian marches in a parade down Metairie Road and they stop at each bar room to have a drink. The marchers also have a truck that halls lots of green beer in the vehicle for the marchers in case they get thristy in between stops. This parade is a little slow and takes a little while to complete but all of the men and women marchers have lots of white and green roses to give away and everyone has lapel stickers that say, "Kiss me, I'm Irish". You know, just in case, you want to have another go at "THE BIG EASY".

Dave,

You are a lucky man ... and Mike is an angel. I lived in New Orleans for 21 years and never had a Mardi Gras experience quite as good as yours.

Thanks for sharing (and for making me jealous :o).

Dave

To ease your jealousy, we brought you and Jen a little something from our adventure :).
