Hi again,
I am typing this from New Orleans after an experience of a lifetime. About 9 months ago Mike, "Jager Monster" on AZB, advertised that he was looking for a trade of pool cues for the right to ride in a Mardi Gras parade including: membership in Crew de Zeus; costume; a spot on the float; plenty of throws (cups, beads, stuffed animals, etc.); and the ability to see Mardi Gras as a local. So we struck a deal, I sent him the cues and waited for this day...all I can say is WOW!
Mike & his wife Bridget went above and beyond to make me & my wife feel welcome and a part of their huge yearly celebration. They camp out at night to claim a spot for the 30 or so friends and relatives that will be joining them to enjoy the parades. Mike & his friend Larry grilled and smoked the 1st day: Tri Tip; pork tenderloin (my wife's favorite); 3 types of ribs; chicken; pulled pork; gumbo; sausages; and I'm sure I'm forgetting something. They even had Diet Coke for us (2 of the few that wasn't drinking harder stuff all day).
2nd day we rode (all day great experience), which was more than the once-in-a-lifetime experience we had hoped for. the 3rd day was fat tuesday so we watched from the sidelines again. We are so tired at the moment we can't imagine doing this for 2 weeks.
If Mike ever offers this deal again, I urge those that can take advantage of it, to do it. Mike will do everything in his power to make sure he over delivers a great time for you. I know he did for me and my wife, Diane. Thank you Mike & Bridget for the great time and being a man of your word. Oh, one more thing, Mike has earned his name on AZ...he can put away the Jager Bombs like nobody I have ever seen
.
Mardi Gras ain't no Rose Parade!!!!!!
