What a class act/player human being this wonderful man is....and he's retiring. In our sport I'd Easily compare Efren to this man, yet we get to see his skill and character, for double or triple the time of other sports. We're pretty fortunate in having such a person in our lifetime to make us enlightened and inspired thru their actions, and giving. The game of pool, handles the centuries as needed....with difference and ease.

I am A Sox fan but Mariano is a class act. He went up a notch when he blew a save in 2004 Playoffs that made the Sox comeback possible. Walk to Millar, Dave Roberts steals second and scores on a single up the middle.

He got a standing Ovation opening day 2005 at Fenway, he handled it with class smiling and waving to the crowd.

Supposedly he wants to play an inning in CF talk is the Yankees will let him do it,:thumbup:

I watched the game yesterday where Jeter and Petit came out to the mound to pull him out of the game. What a moment. He will be missed on the mound for sure.

Mo; what an outstanding player and gentleman...he was one my idols growing up; as were all the Yankees of the late 90s. I wish him the best and hopefully he makes a return, joining the team in a coaching/mentoring position.
