Marissa Hack?

I get this every now and then: distortion of my AZ window, with two posts next to each other and the following message. Anyone else experiencing this?

Kind of weird

postbit template: End of Sweet Marissa Hack

It's just a commented out section of code.

Code:
<!-- comment -->

This is where it is in the page.

Code:
<!-- postbit template: Start of Sweet Marissa Hack

	<td class="alt1" width="175" style="background-image:url(images/techtwo/misc/postbit_fade.gif)">

postbit template: End of Sweet Marissa Hack -->

<!-- If you un-comment the above, you also want to un-comment the below, too -->
 	<td class="alt1" width="175" style="background-image:url(images/techtwo/misc/postbit_fade.gif)">

Yeah, but as I showed, it's an identifier that appears at the end of a screwed-up display of posts.

It only appears to be in the "Tech Two" skin. Try changing to the "AZBilliards vB 3 Style" skin and see if the problem goes away. (There's a drop down box at the very bottom of the page to do this.)

The "Postbit template" is the componnent of the VBulletin system that actually renders each post. It is templated to allow skins to be changed.

I've never seen this happen when browsing AZB myself. In general if this or any other commented out section of HTML code is being displayed it would suggest the pages HTML code from the web server has become disrupted and/or corrupted somehow when rendering on your PC. Try clearing your browser cache or using a different web browser program.

I appreciate all the feedback, but my point seems to have 'whooshed' right over everyone's head - no one thinks it is the least bit strange that the name "Sweet Marissa" is showing up in code for AZ Billiards? Comment or not, that just seems odd to me.

I'm amazed.

I think "odd" is you just being polite....
SO WHAT THE HELL is it?
And how come everytime I try to post after cruising through here for more than a couple of minutes I have to log back in again?

Make sure you check off the "remember me" bos when you log in and you shouldn't have that problem any more.

Way back when, I received a couple of emails from Marissa, and I do not remember her last name being Hack.

Personally, I think that there is someone who has nothing better to do than to 'hack' some of the billiard/pool forums.

I can cruise about the net to any other sites with no issues....the minute I hit any of the pool forum sites...there is an issue of one form or another.

A few weeks back, I had an individual with the moniker of 'stroke' try to access ALL of my ports via another pool forums IP address...my NetBarrier stopped all his attempted intrusions...thankfully.

What's not to say that it could possibly be a disgruntled former member of several different pool forums, that has perhaps been banned permanently, that isn't exacting a little revenge.

Like eBay....hackers will go after accounts that are not being actively used everyday...Marissa does not post anywhere near what she used to.

Just my thoughts....as paraniod as they might be! :rolleyes: :)

I doubt it's anything sinister like that. "Hack" often means "workaround". Probably site admins at one point made some sort of a "hack" (workaround) to do with Sweet Marissa's account. Like to disable her avatar or something (for those of you that remember that drama...haha)

As I stated, it was just a thought. I just find it very interesting that the ONLY sites I am having issues with are those that are pool/billiard forums.

Yes, this sounds most likely, especially as the section of code in question is for the display of the post, with profile and avatar. I seem to recall a long time ago some odd customised graphical element she had setup once, but I might be wrong.

I'm confused. Can anyone explain this to me?

It looks like someone named some hack code after you :). I was a programmer for 10 years, so of course I realize I was looking at a comment, but the point is that it was a comment used to identify some code, and that because of the odd result on my screen, it's obvious that the code worked.

PS - it still is occurring so apparently whoever maintains this site isn't concerned by it...or is still researching.

What about that google result page someone posted? And I still have no idea what you're talking about.
