Marop 70 ball run

Nice Par on that 70 Bill.

From the get go, that was a nice long and straight drive down the rail. and it was nice to see your caddy (puppy) make an appearence at the 9min mark.

I guess there was a disturbance at the pro shop when i heard him barking.

Just when i thought i was looking rough when you had all those balls up table in the Rough you pulled out the sand wedge and played a nice breakshot into the sidepocket which landed you nicely on the fairway !!!

LOL.LOL great shooting bill !

Very smooth shooting. I wish I could shoot half that well. However, did I spot an infraction at 4:47???

At Home.... cue ball Fouls only.

Nice run as always Bill. You are a excellent player. I enjoy watching your videos. You made a great cut shot on a break shot from behind the rack
10:34 or so. I have noticed that you make those type of shots very easily in all your videos. You use a long bridge. I have tried this on those type of shots and it does help.
You're never too old to learn something.
Thanks

The long bridge lets me sight the the contact point a little better than a standard bridge on those type of shots. Not the classic straight pool style but it works for me.

Hey Marop....I guess you didnt see my golf refferances, it was my attempt at being witty and poking some fun at you !

I would of commented earlier but I was on the course trying to equal that 70, no luck so far. 70 ball runs appear to be easier than shooting 70. lol.

bill: you have a nice, relaxed fluid style of play and great shot-making. the only criticism i have (with the exception of another too thin miss on that first b-ball :embarrassed2: ) is that i thought you went into the secondary break-shot at 14:07 assuming that there would be a gimmie afterward. if you look at the layout of the balls and where you hit the 1ball, the resulting position of the balls is fairly predictable. if you wanted that 14 for an insurance ball i think that it would have been better to go into the top of the 3ball with less force rather than the bottom of the 1ball. this would have kept the cueball momentum in the center of the cluster rather than down-table where there were no insurance balls. another thing to watch for is creating secondary clusters along the rail since you had that dark ball on the right rail waiting for company. that didn't happen but the balls were going in that direction.... just food for 14.1 thought....

generally however, i think that you are on the verge of running 100+ like you do 60's and 70's.

I generally don't like going into the balls at the point in the rack. I would have preferred to pick off a few more balls including that one on the rail and then getting back to the middle of the table to shoot the 3. You are correct in thinking I was assuming I would get a shot after shooting the 3, not real smart straight pool.

everyone who plays the game does this. because you are such a good player, i think that if you took a little more time on critical shots to analyze the pack movement, you'd be running 150's like you do 70's.

sometimes it's difficult to recognize critical shots. we all know that the long straight shot with the Q-ball on the rail is critical and break-balls et but that 1ball is a bit of a "blocker" which turned this rather mundane secondary break into a critical shot.

a while back there was a thread about the increased difficulty of getting to 100 and beyond. if i remember correctly, the general consensus was that the odds finally catch up with you. lesser players leave more to chance. therefore eliminating uncertainties is critical for high runs. scrutinizing the movement and future location of clustered balls forces you to be more calculated in your approach and when something happens unexpected you will then better be able to know what went wrong. that, i believe builds a knowledge base for big numbers.
