masse

What??? I must not be that smart, I can't follow your post at all. What do you mean when you say while persuing others on the time? The part about "He's just with the power and the intellect of these impecable masse shots" again I must not be that bright I don't understand this statement?
Thanks for the stuff I could understand.

Jamison

Don't feel bad. I didn't understand much of it, either.

Fascinating..... just... too damn.... fascinating! This is just all the reasons why people like Jamison is needed in this sport. Hands Down! He's just with the power and the intellect of these impecable masse shots. I really don't see why he should just continue persuing his trick shot artistry while persuing others on the time.

BTW, eze123, play small games. :killingme: I hear small masses are good there.

I'm lost too. The words are English, but the language isn't.

Just to clear the smoke here....

ARGH..... ok... ok... guys: If any of you got my previous post very confusing, I am just praising Jamison on him being an asset to his masse' skills and as well as contribution to the billiard world. So please don't :bash: me. I have always been stoked watching Jamison's masse' shots throughout the time. If you haven't, I suggest that you go to his youTube page and give it a watching. They're so good, it's like they're not from this world. Please forgive my "English grammer" because I am terrible in that subject (not the language, lol). This mathematician has so much syntax with his words that I see things in angles and formulas than letters . So sorry to the masse' master, Jamison, and to all of you that had this major confusion with my previous post as I occasionally even post here.

About the post of eze123, it's an inside joke between us. :grin-devilish:.

Guys, keep playing billiards hard, and immortalize this sport to its fullest!

It's all about me for once

Well if I am correct in my translation of your post (slickrick english), you might be one of the very first people to ask me if I had any other interest than pool.

I like farming, I do mine mostly by hand, very humbling. I have an acre planted and most of it's not doing well. I will figure it out someday... I think I need more bees. I am trying to get some time to learn how to break horses and raise some various livestock such as chicken, ginny's and pigs.

Yes, I have and family and they are the best I could ever hope for. My wife is studing to be a nurse and I install hardwood floors for my morning job. In the afternoon I destroy cars and try and part them out for some extra cash doesn't pay well, but I like it. I love to scrap for some reason I guess it's my way of recycling.

I want to get into blacksmithing as well for some reason I would like to have a forge in my back yard someday. I know a little bit about glass working and have enjoyed alot of parties in my life rarely partake in the party life now I probably drink less than three times a year, I play poker, watch almost every movie and have always liked good bluegrass music.

I enjoy music everthing but, rap. I used to travel alot and really liked talking with people about their areas history. I drove to almost every tourney stopping at every place that caught my eye. I always took a few days extra to see the sights.

To tell you the truth I don't know how long this list could go on. I have a little interest in every subject I can think of. My best quote is " It's not what you say your gonna do, it's what you do do."

Allright man that's enough, I am starting to feel violated by myself.

I have no idea what anyone's talking about at this point. The gist is that Rick's first language isn't English, so you have to kind of make allowances for the syntax of the sentences. I got his reference to me about the small games - he's always trying to get anyone to master them before they even touch 3C.
I'm not sure that he did ask you about your life, Jamison, but what the hell, let's all share. And thanks for answering about the masse question. I'm installing a softer tip because the one I have now is like if I hit the cueball with a piece of cinderblock. I'm sure you could nail it, but I can't.

Rick, still not that big on the small game. I've been concentrating on reverse/holdup english type shots all over the table, more interesting to me.

Montreal?

Oh, by the way, posted this in the Canadian pool forum. I'm not gonna bother posting a new thread - if anybody knows they'll post here. Is there a 3C table anywhere around Montreal? Not sure if they actually play it at all in Canada, but if anyone knows, please post. If it's any more than 20 minutes outside of downtown or so, it's probably not going to help me.

I thought I nailed it.

eze123, I finally got around to emailing CIBA about what Cuetips their members use mostly when Masse', Hopefully I will get a reply. As soon as I do I will post their answer here.

Until then, Here the European method of determining density: is on a scale of 95-100, with 95 being soft, 96 medium, 97 medium hard, 98 hard.

I Believe the cuetip [Everest] Jamison Neu mention is medium density of 75.1, 10 layered laminates pigskin. The tip shape like a hard tip, hit like a medium and has control like a soft tip. Jamison Neu can correct me if this info wrong.

Got no idea, I know Tiger calls it thier meduim tip. I will tell you I am not the only guy using them for pool games. Mr. John Schmidt uses them for pool, Dennis Orcolla uses them as well. I know I like them because I get to use them more than one day. I had one last three months before...I'll bet John Schmidt could keep the same tip on his cue for years.

The thing I was trying to tell you about is durability. An Everest will out last other tips. My stroke is hard into the slate, I am trying to break the slate on every swing, it is one of my goals to break a table...The Everest tip can take it and most other brands of tips explode, literally explode. This becomes costly and time consuming...If you go too soft they break down in no time they just buckle and get flat...Too hard and they delaminate or explode. I found Everest to be the middle ground. So before when I said I like a soft farrel and a hard tip I meant medium tip.

It was really hard for me to write about me, no one had ever asked. Sorry to ambush this thread like that in hind sight I should of PM'd that. Either way I still feel violated by myself.
Jamison

Most people probably aren't going to have to worry about tip durability to the degree that you do, I wouldn't think. Is this on your own table, or who's letting you assault and batter theirs?

I don't think anybody minded hearing about it. Hell, I violate myself every day. Sometimes twice.:)

Never had my own table. During my life I have been very lucky to usually have a spot to play and try and destroy some good equipment. I learned on a 1910 Brunswick six legger. It was Charlie Darling's, he let me shoot millions of masse shots on his best table 2" slate and mother of pearl inlay 1910 oh how I miss that table...

Sterling Gaming paid me to try and destroy Artscape cloth when it first hit the scene. It is my pick for duarability.

Many booths at trade shows have honored me by letting me ruin cloth. Even big company's like Diamond Tables sometimes let me have a table for a week to see what stupid shot I invent...They have been very forgiving. Still I can't seem to snap a slate...

Dennis Deickman made me a pricless wand to try and get through a slate and still no luck. I can go to almost any state, and there is a pool hall that enjoys a masse demo. I really never had a problem until I settled down in NC, and I appreiciate the break, thank you NC.

I only shoot pool once every month, maybe even once every two months. I only shot masse three days in the last two years while at Valley Forge. I have not taken any jobs pool related or done anything but teach.

There is also Raytown Recreation in KC. They let me destroy a ten footer when I started playing there. I had never seen a real table before that day. They let me abuse Big Bertha. I hope she forgives me. They even gave me permission to abuse their Verhoven which I still have not done. The Brinks are some of the nicest people in our game friends, if you ever have a chance go in there.

I have friends everywhere from pool. Thats what you gain on the road, I wasn't after the green paper. You can make friends everwhere you go. Usually...

Planet 8-ball, Cue and Cushion, Cris's Billiards, Hollywood Billiards, Hardtymes, Sharkey's, Executive Billiards in Ind., Sharkey's, Comet Billiards and hundreds of other nice pool halls I am forgeting. More than one different Airport Billiards.

Which brings me to Harry Sims who showed me how much could be learned in masse. He showed me a video of a man named Raymond Stylards spelled wrong I am sure... Best I ever saw. This is why I still love billiards today I can thank Harry. He once let me shoot some masse on one of his tables. If you knew Harry that is one hell of a jesture for Harry. That was a big day for me. He showed me his trick shots and made me invent my first original shot.

I would like to make a video I have in mind someday Still looking for the 40 ft table. I want to call it jamison's day with waxy pads. I think it would look cool...this is not the only video I have an idea for just the only one I'll put out there without paper work...I am pretty sure the 40" table idea is safe.

I could keep talking but, I think I have done enough of that. I wish I had some work, I wouldn't have this much free time to violate myself.

This game is fun. I just try and make good friends, if I end up somewhere that I can I hang out then I do, if not then I tend to move on. People tend to like me until I don't like them, that is my flaw. I like to call it don't really care disorder. Life is way to short to live for winnings or trophey's. I like it when everyone has a smile on there face.

Damn man you only asked me one question, look I started a book.lol

JamisonNeu , Now I know some of Dieckman must have rub off on you, with
that philosophy :

Neu. Is it my understanding Harry Sims, taught you some billiard / 3-Cushion ?

Never one time, just tricks. He might have came over and talked to me, while I tried to play three cushion. To make fun of me or tell me how I looked like a pool player. I never took any formal lessons from Harry. I knew him from the time I was young, probably 15-16 years old I think.

When I started playing masse's and tricks. I went to tell Harry about how he had years before inspired me to persue it as a hobbie. I was sure he didn't remember telling me, but he did even remembered the video before I said anything. At the time I had played in one "pro" tourney.

Harry busted out his cue and we shot pool trick shots. He would shoot his and then I would shoot one of mine. I thought they were mine. He said no this is my trick shot. Do you have one of yours I have seen all those? I said no, He told me to make one up while he got back to work and so, I thought for a while and made up a combo, cross corner, kick, timing, bank shot. That last part is for real... It is the first trick shot I ever made.

I don't know if this is proper around here. Hope I don't get booted. I am on the board in the USA for trick shot players. We are always looking for places to hold pro tourney's. If you guys out there know someone or perhaps you are that person. I can make the deals. It starts with the PM or Email jambneu@hotmail.com

eze123, Here the first respond from CIBA:

Hi Bob,
The Mass?-cues shaft size is 13,5 - 14mm.
Cue tips are a personal choice: We use Elk Master, Buffalo, Triangle, Moori and Layani.
Soft tips are used for shots where ball1 must not jump and react immediately.
Hard tips are used for shots where ball1 may jump a little....
