Masters, triangle chalk becoming outdated

When I was young, just married, I needed money to live. I used to go to the bars and gamble but I had to win money. That is why I said I'll give the better player his table and I'll go to another. Had to come home with cash. I've played guys that would just fork it over and over knowing I was the better player. Maybe that is you.
I did the same because I knew I wasn’t going to ever play good enough to be a champion but I was also scared to get a job and get trapped.

So I played weaker players. When I got extra $ I’d step up and play better players because I was looking to improve my game and learn-no internet with free lessons back then. I repeated that process over and over for years.

I also realized pool was very capped for me-I wasn’t going to make the $ I wanted to build the life I wanted.

But pool was a back door out in life over getting a job(my biggest fear). So yeah I had to rob weaker players back when there was action.

I have to laugh at these people that insist on striving to play better players.... to get better themselves. That's fine if you have a job and lots of cash to give the guy. Many of us when we were young, just married etc, did not have the cash. We had to play pool trying to win cash. And besides, the best way to learn pool is with a teacher and doing drills ( in my opinion). Lee Trevino said; "if you playing for a dollar and all you have is a quarter, you'd better win".

I’d step up sometimes to take the heat and it did keep me sharper. But throwing $ at pool in a dumb way is no route to playing better.

Deliberate practice-especially drills helped me more than anything.

Robbing drunks didn’t hurt my game, taught me how to win and close the deal.

Getting beat all the time can hurt your game as you forget how to win-almost. It’s not good to always play -ev games in life. You have to play games your gonna win and keep the winning momentum going. When you hit a downswing especially, play soft games to get out of the funk. Playing winning games is the best cure for a losing streak

This applies to all games imo not just pool

Ko used Master and Aranas used Triangle. You don't think these guys have access to these bullshit $20 a cube chalks? It's Calcium Carbonate and that's that. Your game does not need a miracle shaft or chalk mined on Uranus you need TALENT. That's in far rarer supply than these so called "super chalks", "super cues", "super shafts" or anything else.

Woa, there's super cues now? We're the fk can I buy one those those bullshit things? Got a link????

That's probably why I haven't taken over pool yet, I have the super chalk, but I still need the super shaft to go on the super cue, each on their own isn't much of an improvement but when they combine though.......

absolute funniest thing... watching someone put $30 a cube chalk on a flat tip... I use the "Free" brand chalk and Masters is some of the best "Free" brand you will find

Having read, some of the long running thread on taom chalk.

I personally love the old masters stuff. I know SVB uses it. And ronnie and judd, still use the green triangle In snooker.
My question is: how many like myself still use it? Or have you moved over to the modern stuff?
I bought a gross of Masters years ago and it worked just fine. Masters created a lot of chalk dust so I frequently vacuumed and washed the cloth, even though using the Simonis X-1cleaning tool. I read that Taom Pyro is a much cleaner chalk so I tried it. Now I use it exclusively only because I it is so much cleaner.

The poolhall I have been going to has crappy chalk. If they had decent chalk i would not of changed from Master Chalk
