Match ups you would like to see at DCC

How about Scott Frost and Cliff Joyner over a 1-pocket set race to 5 for oh say 10k? That'd be nice to watch.

Only reason I'm even going is just in case of another Schmidt-Pagulayan straight pool matchup. The last one was to 300 points, lasted 5 1/2 hours, and was the best pool match I've ever seen (Pagulayan edged Schmidt 300-298, you could cut the tension with a knife). Maybe we'll get the re-match into the AZB room. Now THAT would be something to remember.

Do you remember the high run in that match?

I'd like to see Efren vs. Scot Frost. I only have 1 match of Frost and Pagulayan playing, and Scott is a MONSTER!....Gerry

I could definitely sweat that match for hours on end! Call me sentimental but I miss watching Tony Watson play (when he was clean). I would love to see him get in a good match. Shannon Daulton woofs with the best of them and plays fast... I'd love to see him in a good match up too. If Stevie Moore goes, he's another that plays fairly fast & is fun to watch in action. I'd like to see Joey K match up too.... I've only ever seen him play in tourney's and I would really like to see his gambling game. I guess I only answered half the question... Beggars can't be choosers... it's been YEARS since I've seen some good gambling going on... I'm not going to be picky! These are just a few that I enjoy watching gamble & I'm not going to be picky as to who they match up with. I will say that the Cliff Joyner vs Efren 1p match (last yr?)would definitely hold my interest! ;)

3 matches I'd like to see...............

Any match ups that the sweaters would die to see???

I'd like to see Efren play Cliff some more One Pocket on the TV table.

I also like to see a big Bowman/Matlock barbox match as it isn't looking very feasable to do the Live Internet thingy I was trying to do.
The technology isn't quite there yet.

Last, but not least - I'd like to see me playing Efren in the One Pocket Finals.

TY & GL

One Pocket: Efren vs Cliff , Frost vs Daulton

Banks: Jason Miller vs Danny Harriman, Brumback vs Piggy

Nine Ball: Kid D vs Gabe Owens, (Manalo vs Wu if they both show up)

Are you going???

Seriously doubt I can go, Timberly. If I do, I'll definately try and find you so we can chill with some cold ones.

Might have job interview the same week so too bad for me...:(

I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get the new job AND you get to go to Derby. :)

Ironman,
Yes.

P.S. - It was 112 by John Schmidt. Pagulayan's high run was 80. The pressure of the match was so intense and draining (before DCC I'll re-post a summary I wrote of this epic match), that when I announced to the fans his run of 112, he looked over at me in the audience and said wryly, "it felt like TWO hundred and twelve." He looked almost completely spent by the effort of the run (it took him to the score of 292 - 171 I think, from which point he scored only 6 more balls in the match in 3 more innings). Remember, this match started at midnight the last Friday in DCC, after a full day of 9-ball competition; match ended at 5:30 A.M. (Alex was still alive in the final 8 players in the 9-ball, his next match at 10 or 11 A.M.)

I spoke to JS briefly this year at DCC, complimenting him on that fabulous match (even though he lost, just to be part of it was something special). He told me that on loose equipment he is a threat to run 400 anytime he steps to the table; but that he believed his run of 112 on fairly tough equipment, for big stakes, against a tremendous opponent, at a CRITICAL stage of the game was an accomplishment he was much prouder of than running a 400. I concur.

Maybe I'm nuts but I thought the 10 ball game with Tony W. and Lil Joh Hager was a great game. Anyone else catch that? If memory serves correctly they played 2 sets for ??? and the second set lasted for 13 1/2 hours. Was a really tight match. Lil John got 2 on the wire to 10 ahead and come out on top.
Then Lil John played Hennessee later that same night. Lil John came unwound and lost to Hennessee.
I would like to see Tony Watson (clean) match up with John Schmidt 10 ball, 10 ahead for anything.

They played again the next night or so for big$. Alex took that one too- He had 2 120+ runs. Schmidt opened with a 60 and that was the last lead he saw. JS wanted to bet twice what Alex's backer could come up with. Schmidt was sick. Alex was like a little surgeon out there. If Schmidt plays him again, I'll be real surprised.

All this time I thought we were talking about Lil John Macias.
