Looks like he took his eye off the 8 once down on the shot to make sure his shirt didn't touch the 9, which was right underneath him on the short rail. Plus he cueing a little awkwardly trying to make sure there was no foul on the 9.

wilson swiftly through to L16. pinoy kid kyle amaroto is looking good in his debut (?) international tournament

Lil Ko eliminates Shaw 10-2

He has the most brutal draw of anyone in a major event in a long time.
He already took down 2 big names Gorst and Shaw in last 64 and last 32 today.
But he still has to take down 4 more big names to snap off this title

First he has to play Chris Melling in last 16 tomorrow.
If he wins, he will likely play SVB or Kaci in quarterfinal.
If he wins, he will likely play FSR in semi
If he wins, he will likely play Filler or Big Ko in final

amoroto is through. i have only seen him on filipino gambling streams, never in a tournament. if this is his first, it's very strong. he's only 20 years i think

Hope lots of your predictions are wrong

9-ball with winner breaks is a very different game compared to 10-ball (call shot) with alternating breaks. You'll get much more variation in outcomes and scores with the former compared to the latter. And that's not necessarily a bad thing (I've argued numerous times before that variety in games and rules is a good thing). In this format, underdogs and relative unknowns are more likely to finish pretty deep. Some of the names in the final 16 demonstrate this.

If I'm reading the bracket right, they aren't staggering start times for the last 16, quarterfinals, OR semifinals?

I realize there are competition/fairness issues at play when one person has a lot more time between matches than his opponent, but sheesh. Seems like could break this up a BIT more?
