Call it 'The Old Farts Off Their Med's Tour'.Maybe Earl would start winning again.
I think it was a one-off thing that only the Miz could do….the Seminoles of Florida said they’d keep adding money as long as Steve was living.Mizerak's tour had about five events a year and was, if memory serves, for players over 50. Steve, because of the Miller Lite commercial, was one of extremely few male players that had become well-known outside of pool, and it gave him access to some sponsorship. His tour lasted a few years but can hardly be counted as a financial winner. No senior tour has emerged this century.
Ultimately, the question is not whether the seniors wish to compete but whether the seniors are marketable. If so, there should be some sponsorship available to them for a new tour, but if not, then the pickings will be slim.
C'mon man, you don't think 'Earl the Pearl's "Goin Off the Rails Tour" would fly??I think it was a one-off thing that only the Miz could do….the Seminoles of Florida said they’d keep adding money as long as Steve was living.
I agree. In a world populated with off-the-air ideas this one ranks right up there. Hell, REAL men's pro pool is a niche sport so what does that make senior pool? Niche-niche?This has got to a front runner for the dumbest thread of the week.
It could fly for one tournament….but the injuries would be enormous.C'mon man, you don't think 'Earl the Pearl's "Goin Off the Rails Tour" would fly??![]()
Yup, Steve was box office and the Seminoles contributed a lot to pool.I think it was a one-off thing that only the Miz could do….the Seminoles of Florida said they’d keep adding money as long as Steve was living.
The Seminoles used to fund the National Native American Champ's held at Magoo's in Tulsa. What happened was that one of their members in the financial office was skimming funds for years so they, the tribe, got out of sports promotions altogether. That meant pool, softball, motocross, etc all got the financial axe. It cost Corey D. a bunch as he was their official 'house pro', they paid him a sweet salary, staked him in action and flew him in the tribe's Gulfstream.Yup, Steve was box office and the Seminoles contributed a lot to pool.
Where in Mon. do you live? Pool room near or table at home? The Seminole tribe also sponcered their tribal members in rodeos also and paid their way and entry fees , I seen more than one very nice pickup pulling a even nicer slant horse trailer .
A long way to go to beat Tom Reece's five-week match, and there were the straight pool championship matches that were to 3000 or so., but I know what you mean. Chess clocks or no bathroom breaks ought to do it. Plays into the Depends sponsorship..... producing some serious contenders for the longest tournament matches in pool history
And no respect for the game. This has got to be a front runner for the dumbest thread of the week.
Back when I'd see the pickups and horse trailers I lived in Southeastern Montana , now I'm close to the middle of Montana where its a 130 miles one way to Brothers Billards in Billings to play on a 9' table , closer to home is a handful of valley bar tables , which aren't a favorite of mine .Where in Mon. do you live? Pool room near or table at home?
Bought my Gold Crown from a Miz senior tournamentYup, Steve was box office and the Seminoles contributed a lot to pool.

I like. Maybe a veterans division with Cold War themed matchups. USSR/US Mosconi Cup styleA long way to go to beat Tom Reece's five-week match, and there were the straight pool championship matches that were to 3000 or so., but I know what you mean.
