Disqualifications

You Can Not Play in the Maxim Billiard "Amateur" 9-Ball Tour events if:

1. You have ever won 12 or more Open Regional Tour Events in the last 5 years or any $20,000 added or more Professional Events in the last 5 years.

2. You have placed 2nd or 3rd of any $20,000 added or more tournament in the last 5 years.

3. You have 16 or more 2nd, 3rd place finishes in open regional tour events.

4. You have won 10 or more Amateur events on any other Amateur tours (combined) and not including the Maxim Billiard Amateur 9-Ball Tour.

5. Any player in the top 48 of the current BCA, WPA points list, any player in the top 30 of the AZB Money list for the past 5 years or any WPBA ranked player ranked in the top 32 will NOT be eligible to play in the Maxim Billiards Amateur Tour events. All other players will be considered as "eligible to play" in the Maxim Billiards Amateur Tour events.

If you fall into any of the above categories the Maxim Billiard "Open" 9-Ball Tour is the division for you. Additionally, who may and who may not play in the Amateur division is at the sole discretion of the director at the event or the Maxim Billiard 9-Ball Tour office staff. If you have any questions regarding your eligibility please email the Maxim Billiard 9-Ball Tour at maximtour@yahoo.com at least 14 days prior to the event you wish to compete in. If you do not fall into any of the above categories the Maxim Billiard Amateur 9-Ball Tour is your ticket to success.

This tournament

should be a good one! I was looking at the payouts for some of the last maxim events and they seem pretty good compared to other regional tours....looks like a good event!

Isn't the Blue Fox where Matt Clatterbuck is house pro at? If so, will Matt be allowed to play in the tournament?

I did a little looking around on the tours website and on the AZ player finder list and it looks like that YES Matt could definitely play in the Open division (but so can anyone and everyone else) but not in the Amateur division as he is disqualified under the amateur divisions rules. Specifically under Rule #3. I didn't check any farther than that.

That was a fun little research project. I had nothing better to do since I am sitting home sick. Plus I really like the way this tour has there guidelines set out and really appreciate all the work put into the AZ Player Finder Database. Good job by all involved.

Just to make it clear, there is **NO TOUR CARD REQUIRED TO PLAY IN MAXIM TOUR EVENTS!!!

For players that only play in 1 or 2 events the Maxim Tours offer a 1 event pass for only $10 but if you play in more of our events and you want to save money it is suggested you get the full 12 month tour card for only $30. This is a savings of $90 if you play in one event a month with the Maxim Tour.

Do we have to signed up and pay the entry in advance to reserve a spot or can we show up on Saturday, the day of the event?

Sign-up takes place the day of the event. Sign-ups and free practice usually start 1 hour prior to the posted start time for the event.

Sounds like a good time, I might get that way. Why do you state the following?

**NO TOUR CARD REQUIRED TO PLAY IN MAXIM TOUR EVENTS!!!

2 Day Event + $10 1X or $30 12 Month Tour Card Fee

Sure seems like a card is required to me.

Not 'required' as one can get a 1-day pass. Does it make sense to not get the card and pay the 1-day? Only you can decide!
