McGoorty book to give away

In keeping with my agreement with AZ member "8-ball rat", I am going to send 1 lucky AZ'er a free used copy of "McGoorty" by Robert Byrne.

The book is an easy read and is about the misadventures of McGoorty, a career pool hustler. Often funny and occasionally sad, the book is a must read for billiard buffs. It reveals the darker side of billiards starting in the 1920's through the early demise of 3-cushion billiards in the 50's through the death of McGoorty in the early 1970's.

Though it won't improve your billiards game, it may make your 9 to 5 job look like a pleasure cruise!

First AZer to PM me their address gets the book... they just have to promise to pass it along to another AZer!

Success!!!

I'm thrilled to see that the book is making its way around the "crew"!!!

Thanks to BillYards for keeping the hope alive!!

It really is a fun book to read...and it ought to have about 40-50 passes in it before I'll buy another one to push around the forums.

Way to go, Ross! What a guy!

Thanks, Rat! Enjoyed the book a lot. It was well worth the effort you put into getting it to me!

I read the dang thing really fast... I have just been way too busy to post it back on the forum.

Dammit!!!!!

Here's a corny thought....

What I shoulda done before I sent the book to BillYards....was sign it. Then he could have...then the next one...and so on, and so forth.

Not to sound like a guy trying to relive his college youth....but it woulda been pretty decent to have that thing full of signatures of the folks that got it and passed it on....just for the novelty of it.

Maybe Ross can do it with his????

Just a thought

Rat

I was the quickest today... The signing the book would be a fun thing to see who all has read the book before you.
I will try to read it fast and put it back up for grabs.
Thanks 1pRoscoe!

Ok... here are the options: I can either endorse the book for you (which I was going to do anyway, then sign it myself) OR... I can mail it to you and you can mail it back to the next reader via the pre-paid envelope that I send with it... What do you think?

Tanner:

You are still young and impressionable... Please don't get any wise ideas from this book, OK?

Say it slowly with me... college, Graduation, CAREER! OK?

Tap, tap

The life of a pool player offers no retirement options! LOL!

John,

By all means, please endorse it for me. "8-ball Rat"...or just "Rat"...either one is fine. I figure that would be better recognized than "Mark"

This book ought to look WICKED after about a year or so!!! Who knows...somebody might pay big dollars for our names on E-bay after a few years of this.

Just like I had hoped for...my 3 seconds of fame!

Rat

Billyards,
I look forward to receiving the book and I am curious to see how long we can keep this going. Thanks again.

I have read "Playing Off The Rail" and decided to stay with college first and pool later. :P Thanks for the advice! ;)
