I am considering offering Medical Insurance to all Viking Tour member Individuals, families and billiard related business (this can be offered to your employees to).

This is a high quality PPO through a Nationwide carrier that allows access to any medical facility without having to get pre-approval.

I have compared it to many others and its one of the best around.

As an example, my Wife Terrie is a Nurse and this insurance is cheaper and just as good as what she gets from the Hospital she works at only about 40% cheaper. It allows you to go to any doctor or hospital and has low monthly premiums and a low deductible with about $30 office visits and cheap prescriptions. We, Terri and I have changed over to this and it saves us about $350 per month from what we pay through her work.

Right now this is just a feeler to see if anyone would be interested in a program like this offered through the Viking Tour. It would require anyone who wants this Insurance to be a member of the tour which is only $30 per year as an individual or $150 as a business member.

Please answer the pool question and post any comments or concerns you may have.

I will try my best to answer any questions presented.

Respectfully,

I have been doing this insurance dance myself lately because I am now considered an independent contractor. What I have found is that as a "group" insurance companies will accept just about anyone, but as an individual, major restrictions apply (even if you have no pre-existing conditions). So, my question to you would be are you planning to have the Viking Tour be the "group" and the members listed under the group? how would this be done exactly?

thanks.

I pay $297 for Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO
$13 Delta Dental
$9 VSP vision

I believe Dr visits are $20 and prescriptions depend on what you get. They are between $10-$40

all of it is through work so maybe if I can get something else I can quit my job and be a pool player again!

I was curious if pre-existing health conditions will skew the price by alot. I'm diabetic so I know that is a pretty big reason to raise the price. If I read it right, no one can be denied.

Thanks for trying to do something Mike. I'm glad someone has finally brought up the idea.

Sarah

Thank to to everyone that has responded to this thread. Some very good questions have been raised that I honestly do not know the answers to. This week I will be meeting with the health care execs and I will ask and get answers to each specific question. As to can imagine there are multitudes of paperwork and contracts to go over. As soon as I know more I will reply to each specific question in this thread that I have not already responded to.

Thank you for your patience and support.

Look for our Press Release coming soon in all magazines and Web Sites

INSURANCE For Viking Tour Player members and Business Associate members

THE VIKING CUE 9-BALL TOURS NEW ASSOCIATION HEALTH AND BENEFIT PROGRAMS CAN HELP MEMBERS GET A HANDLE ON RISING HEALTH CARE COSTS

Just about every day, a staff member at Viking Tour gets asked the following question: Do you have a health insurance program for Player members or Business Associate members ? Beginning this month the answer is ?yes?.

The Viking Tour 9 Ball has just launched a new membership-only benefit: Viking Tour Health and Benefits Solutions. Through this new program, Viking Tour Player members and Business Associate members across the country can take advantage of lower rates and broader benefits on comprehensive health insurance (individual or group), life insurance, long-term care, dental, disability, and critical illness. Health Benefits Professionals & Association Health Programs of Overland Park, Kansas, has been retained to administer the program.

Under the program, many Viking Tour Player members and Business Associate members will be able to take advantage of lower pricing, creative solutions in healthcare due to the high volume of business administered by Association Health Programs. With over 160 national associations, over 2.5 million members, 18 years providing associations with member benefits, and large blocks of business with the insurance carriers allows for Viking Tour members to realize savings up to 40% on their insurance needs. Accordingly, Viking Tour Player members and Business Associate members will benefit by favorable underwriting practices and pricing due to the volume of business AHP does with major insurance carriers. This will aid our members initially and at renewal.

Viking Tour Player members and Business Associate members who currently provide health insurance coverage for themselves or their employees should take a moment to compare their existing plan with one offered by the Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour Tour/AHP. Plus members who want to begin providing health insurance and other benefits should begin shopping with the Viking Tour.

Health insurance is available to the group or individuals within the companies of Viking Tour Business Associate members on a discriminatory or select basis. With this new program, your part-time and full-time employees can have access to coverage without ever losing their coverage and employers can afford to provide access to their employees for health insurance.

In addition to health insurance, Viking Tour Player members and Business Associate members should investigate the long-term care program. This offers our members access to every long-term care provider nationwide at up to 40% savings. Long-term care is the fastest growing segment of the health insurance industry as average life expectancy lengthens and the cost of home care, assisted living, and nursing home care continues to escalate.

Our life insurance programs should benefit our members by savings and underwriting for risk while saving up to 20% off current and new policies. Disability Income, Critical Illness, guaranteed issue limited medical plans for the uninsurable, dental and vision are just a few of the other benefits we can offer members.

For more information on becoming a Viking Tour Player member or Business Associate members or to get started if you are already a member email the Viking Tour at vikingtour2@yahoo.com or call 1-800-200-POOL (7665) to get your Viking Tour member information insurance packet.

The Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour is proud to be the 1st tour in the US to ever offer these types of benefits to our Viking Tour Player members and Business Associate members. For mor information about the Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour please visit our web site at: http://www.vikingcue.com/9balltour.htm

Help me out here a little bit Guys and Gals.

Do you have Healh/Medical Insurance ?

Single, Married, Family ( # of ) ?

How much do you pay ?

Any info you can give might make this better for all the Business and Players that want/need insurance.

Right now my Wife (44) and me (39) pay about $950 per month for our insurance (Med, Dental, Vision) + Smokers. This program reduces it to about $530 per month for us.

Thanks,

Mj

Me, my wife, my daughter full health, dental, vision, $20/co-pay. $180/month.

Im on my wifes insurance plan which is United Healthcare and its the State of Georgia Benefits package because she teaches. It is by far the best I've ever had or seen. It covers everything with a $20 co-pay and the $180 is for the family plan and it doesnt matter if we have 1 kid or 20 kids the price stays the same.

I am sure its a great plan but I am trying to compare Apples to Apples.

I am assuming that her employer pays a large portion of the total healthcare cost as a benefit of being a valuable employee. Is this correct ? If so, do you know what percentage they pay ?

As an example, my Mom and Dad pay $0 a month for full coverage with Med, Dental, Vision and $10 co-pays with a $500 yearly deductlble. However, the $0 cost is only because the company he works for pays 100% of the insurance cost. As an employee this is a benefit but the fees are still relatively high to the company he works for.

Basically, the insurance the Viking Tour is offering in most cases is not for anyone that has insurance as an employee benefit. It is for people that have no employer, they are self employed or they want to offer it to their employees as a benefit.

I have no idea what the % is. I'll see if she knows tonight. I do know that the rate is the same accross the board for full time teachers in the state of Georgia.

$0 monthly fee... covers medical/dental/vision... Dr. visit $10 copay... generic prescription $5 copay... $0 yearly deductible... used to cover me/wife/2 boys... now it just covers me... one of the fortunate few who still has a early 1980s benefits package from his employer... and one of the reasons that I accepted the job offer with them back in 1981.
