ROFL... not trying to be an A-hole or Shorty-esque but, you knew to contact me or ARM or RJBigfish if you wanted some real action in Melbourne and didn't. Therefore, there is no need to be bragging that you "Left w/ the cash".

Anyone half-decent can go into any town, only play the bangers for a dollar a game and leave w/ the cash. I would like you to come in, play one of our good

I don't think anything I said indicated, or even inferred, that I, "came thruogh town, beat the best...". Pull a quote for me and lemme see where you got that impression.

I have to admit that is the way it sounded to me too. As Skippy stated there are plenty of ball bangers and it's fine you made some cash off of some kids--but you did sound like you snapped off some real poolplayers. Since no one even mentioned a poolplayer in town you obviously didn't play anyone of consequence.

I would have said Pro-billiards in Orlando, but it changed owners and then shut down. Golden Cue does have some money (not a bank, but you can get a jelly roll or two; just ask for ROY, he wont quit until he's busted), further south in VERO beach, you can find Nathan Rose or Mark Coats they both like to play and aren't too bad. Up in the Middle/North of the state in Spring Hill, you can get all the game you can handle, and then some, so don't go there unless you can either get the nuts and not crack under the pressure, or could win the US open. Breakers in Jax, has one or two big boys, the rest are just casuals. Jimmy's on OBT used to have a few decent players with backers, don't know anymore. Sometimes you might be able to get one from Jimmy at WALDOS in daytona. Lee that owns Sportstown used to like to gamble, (and that guy is awesome, so freaking funny). You can always count on Richie R. for a good 1-hole or 9-ball game, but he's pretty sporty too.

Oh well, good luck. Let us know where you go and if anything panned out.

I certainly did not read anything that gave me that impression. I do get the impression that some of the people from Melbourne Fl who post here are overly sensitive and think they are central to the pool scene in their little world. jmo.

I think you guys from Melbourne are missing an opportunity here. When somebody says they stopped in your pool hall and left with the cheese, you're supposed to say "that's right, we're easy and we like to bet it up, so come on down." That's just free advertising, man! :D

He stated several times that he played here and "Left with the cash". That generally means that you played anyone and everyone and busted them all, not that you played a couple of bangers and took thier beer money.

DaveK, like I said a couple of posts ago, we take pride in a few of our players and don't like to get badmouthed that some nobody came through town and busted us all. If you'd like to fly down here from the great white north and give us a try we'll be waiting.

thanks for info prog8r sounds like fun !! ill check them places out..we will be travelling all around florida should be gret journey!!!

Both meanings you come up with are a result of your own interpretation. My statement only conveys the fact that I was there and I left with $.

Pride is good...I would add that I met some very cool people there. To repeat meeself, If I lived down there, I'd probably make it my regular room.

P.S. I will play anyone that wants to come to my hometown too.

Eddie moved back to NY and then moved back here recently. Your favorite billiard instructor is living here again also. Actually, you have a lot to do with why I started playing again. :) I'm not making any excuses - you play real well - but I wasn't playing at all at the time. I had taken a 3 year lay-off. I started getting the urge to play again when everyone was calling me telling me that there were "these road players in town". I've been back to playing again ever since that day (with a few month lay-off right after my wedding last year). Although, I still work so it isn't like I'm out there matching up all the time either. How about you? I hear you don't play much any more yourself. It's tough to give this game up for good. I tried and couldn't do it! :D

Yeah, I quit for almost 2 years because I could see there is no future in the sport. I see all of these ex champions dead broke with nothing to show for it and I knew I didn't want to end up like that. My brother and I started our own import-export saltwater aquarium fish, live rock and inverts and corals. Our business is doing great but I forced myself to become so negative about pool(I knew it would be the only way to get the business started) that now when I get the urge to start playing and because I did such a good job at being so negative about it I can't get the desire back.My wife and I have been together 15 years, if I was single I might live on the road because I do love the action but it wouldn't be fair to her. I am playing about once a week- 10 days now but I can still get there with the 12 ball ghost(barely now but I used to rob it when I was playing every day) I am in the same boat you as far as road players come to town wanting to play. The most frustrating thing is when I feel like playing and I try to give some guys a spot they are still so scared of how I used to play. I was at the poolhall the other night and I was hitting balls with somebody that is a 7 in the APA and who loves to gamble and he wouldn't even play with the last 5 and the breaks and when that happens I say f**k this that is why I quit in the first place. Hopefully we can play again and I can give you a rematch some day( i know you would like that) tell Eddie that the hit he made when I was on the hill and he was on 2 is still unbeliveable!! When you see Glen thank him for playing so good against me that first day(LOL)

Springhill definitely!
Robb Saez is good for the cash. Big fish! Loves to lose. Hates his money. You might want to give him the 7 out just so you can bait him.
Rodney Morris. Another fish. I know the name sounds familiar but he is not the same guy that is on tv.

fyi dynamite would be no worse than even money to beat Rob or Rodney, especially at 8 ball. ;)
