Message for AZB Room members!!

We're almost there, 2 days to go. Remember to read the rules and abide by them. We always have people trying to monopolize tables, pleading ignorance of the way we rotate for maximum member play.

Remember to sign up on the board to play, and rotate as described below.

If you see people in the room, INTRODUCE YOURSELF AND GET IN THE ROTATION!! We may try a "badge system" where we use our badges like quarters on the rail in a bar.

If you see someone who is not a member playing, POLITELY TELL THEM THAT THE ROOM IS FOR MEMBERS AND PRO'S ONLY (there will be a pro list on the wall). Tell them our costs are up front and money was collected ahead of time. If they resist, call an organizer or Room Goon.

Remember to GIVE UP THE TABLE IF PRO'S COME IN AND WANT TO PLAY - they can play with you first; but let's encourage them to frequent the room; offer them refreshments if we have them in the room.

Here are the games we play:

As before, there will be a list of allowable "games" (ie. race to 2 at one-pocket, race to 2 in 8-ball, race to 3 in 9-ball, race to 2 in 9-ball banks, race to 35 in 14.1). There will be a sign-up board for each table. When your turn comes up, you play the person above you in the order; after the match your opponent leaves the table (win or lose) and you play the person below you in the order; then you leave the table after that match (win or lose). You can always sign right back into the order if you wish. Violators will be subject to disciplinary action from the Room Goons.

Please bump this thread; your bump will signify you are on board and will help things run smoothly so everyone can play.

how about those of us who didn't know whether or not we were going to attend? Can I meet and hob-knob w/y'all, or do I have to stand outside the room with a sign saying "I'm TRUSTYRUSTY" and hope to catch folks on the way in or out??

You can do anything and everything, up to actually playing pool in there.
Just remember the dress code! :D

CRAP, I'm allergic to pants!!! There goes the whole trip! I had a metallic silver speedo made that reads - I'M ON AZB on the backside too. Screw you guys and all your RULES!

Rust-man,
All patrons of the event and all AZB forum members are welcome to hang out in the room. Playing privileges are reserved for contributing members only. All hobknobbing is encouraged.

P.S. - I forgot to mention that we have a strict rule against silver speedo's

What do you mean by "contributing members"? People who have donated cash to keep this place going or people who post here regularly?

Mullyman,

On this thread of "Contributing members" are for AZers who are attending Derby City Classic. Not AZ Billiard paid members that you are thinking of. There are several threads about this and this is I believe 2nd year Williebetmore and Steve Lomako have voluntarily coordinated this event... which is a clear indication being an internist and running a pool room is not a full time job:rolleyes:

It's ok that you didn't know about this, because you and I are about the 85% of AZers that only read what sparks their personal interest. I wonder how some people read every thread, response and memorize it current and 5 years back... coming up with quotes..

Back to the subject, at DCC there is a small and private room (PA-TY central:cool: ) with 2 Diamond tables for AZ members to mingle and match up against each other. The room is stocked with beverages and snacks. AZers had chances to send in $$$ to keep that room stocked with goodies. That is "Contributing members". If not contributed with green stuff, you can still hang out and meet and greet fellow AZers, just keep your hands and sticks off the table:rolleyes:

Here are some thread to give you insight:)

Mullyman, if you are at Derby this year, come by and say hello

S.

Daammnnitt!!!

I know, right? I was even thinking of shaving too (to be curtious). Not now; and I'm breaking out the elephant thong (with the trunk in the front). It's been safely tucked away ever since the titty-bar golf outing (and yes, there were times it affected my putting stroke). I'll show you, telling me no silver Speedos!! :p :D

R-man,
Sorry for any confusion, I hope "sunnyday" cleared it up. We have to pay for the room; so we collect $25 from each person that wants to play in the room. All of our costs are up front; so we have to collect all of the cash BEFORE DCC.

Check out the room this year; and you can always decide to play next year (though you will see very few in Speedo's.....though I think JoeyA favors pink over silver....I could be wrong).

No problem at all. I'll stop with the skimpy dressing threats. Would like to put faces with names (or screennames). If I "need" to play, I'll head down to the TARpit and woof at somebody, though after I play I might have a line around the block waiting to collect their cash.

<<<---- is OK with being an ATM.

Will TAR be covering this event?

LOL

Just a little note to Williechickenout........

Dude you're totally being dissed for chickening out of the Bud bowl this year.

Maybe just maybe you'll have enough free time (and heart) on your hands at the derby to complete your scores....

I doubt it though
