i hate a messy ferrule!! are there any other ferrules besides ivory that dont leave chalk marks and can be wiped clean with ease????

hmm....saber-t stays pretty clean like ivory, the chalk just wipes off. you can make other ferrules chalk resistant too if you take it to a cuemaker and have them seal the ferrule with some thin CA.

I wax my shafts with Q-Wax all the way to the side if the tips. Burnish it in with leather. This seals the ferrules also. I find this keeps my ferrules really clean. I have a habit of every time I chalk I stroke the shaft off with my hand to remove any unwanted chalk dust.

In lieu of putting some sort of finish (was, polish, CA) on your ferrule, you could put a small piece of Magic Eraser in your cue case (or, in your pocket, for that matter) and clean your ferrule periodically with that.

I slice the Magic Eraser in small, single use, size.

that actually works very well.....ivory is always the nuts for clean and I just got some new ferrule material that doesn't stain but can't remember the friggin name right now.....

the linen based ferrules hit great but get very dirty....i been using the CA trick on them for some time now......
