Methods to remove sticky feeling on cue

any one know or what to apply to remove the sticky feeling i have on the cue??

it is not just the shaft. the butt feels sticky also.

can advice me on what to apply and what NOT to apply?

haha. nah.. i dun wan to know either.

reason i asked is becoz i receive a bk2 today. it felt sticky. haha!

If you do that.....and you don't listen to scott lee.....your cue will look and play like this..... (the key to the damp paper towel is heat friction....it will strip off the oils and grime with the dry one doing the final clean and burnish....beat it till you heat it lol)

I'm curious as to why one wouldnt use mineral spirits. Water and wood just dont mix! IMO. THe only down side to the mineral spirits that I can think of is that it will strip the wax of the shaft if it has any on it.

What you are feeling is a mixture of dirt, water, and muccus. The muccus and water is the sweat from your hand and the muccus is the sticky part.
Try cleaning with a product called Invisible Glass. It's an aerosol that you can get at your local auto parts store.
Spray a piece of Vanity Fair dinner napkin with it and wipe down the butt. Use a dry piece of Vanity to buff dry.
Why Vanity Fair dinner napkins? Because the won't scratch the clear coat on your cue like ordinary paper towels will.
Once, or twice a year, apply a coat of good quality car wax. :smile:
 
I use a billiard glove. And bought a cue with a sports grip. It stopped me worrying about doing anything to my cue's shaft or butt forever.
 
When you get a new cue and you take those stickers off, use mayonnaise. Just rub it on there with a towel, then rub it off. Sounds strange, but it works.

lol its just the oil in it, you can use alcohol or a dap of olive/cooking oil if your out of mayo

To the shaft and butt, or just the latter?
 
Just get a good cue shaft cleaner, then

Stroke it like a Monkey in a Mango Tree! :thumbup:
