Meucci, Another Joke

Junk ? No, not all Meuccis.
I have 3 Originals and 3 newer ones, each cue plays different, i like them all.
Here a pic for the haters and Meucci players...

The "Buddy Hall Meucci Cue" is by far overpriced imho

I have a metallic series just like yours and I'll take 500.00 for it with a red dot shaft. It sales for over 1,200 new. Steve Lomax told me he designed that cue for Bob.

I heard Steve designed that series also. From what I've seen first hand I think Bob is putting out first rate cues now, like the 70's and 80's. Just my opinion. Also I don't think people really rolled and checked over the older Meuccis when they bought them like they do now.

Bob is putting out amazing cues again

.....First the Meucci Collector? This is probably the rarest form of cue collector that exists. Being that Meucci cues are held in such low esteem by so many there just aren't that many people out there who are collecting them I don't think......

John, you make some good points, but this one.....well, you might be off the mark on. Believe it or not, there are a lot of Meucci collectors out there. Not a lot active here on AZ from what I can tell, but they're out there. They are some of the most brand-loyal collectors I've come across.

I am one of them ;)

I play regularly with a PP 1.

I know that I have told everyone at least 100 times but I just like to say Pee Pee 1 whenever I get a chance.

I would love to see all the people that talk crap about Meucci to all get together, brain storm and build at least an equal cue.

Some of those people are cue makers so that wouldn't be hard. You can't really fault people for venting when there has been more than 15 years or so of not-so-good quality and worse service.

I am one of those folks who really LIKES Bob Meucci and appreciates what he has put into this industry. But you have to admit that the reputation has been up and down considerably.

It is what it is and to fix it is gong to be a really tough road in today's billiard industry. Back when Meucci was on top Asian cues were crap. Now the best Asian cues are pretty much as good as any American production cues. Yes, that's a statement which will draw fire but sorry I have seen them all bandsawed and know how they are all built.

So what you have now is a huge increase in choice for the consumer. And once a person gets around to asking around about Meucci they will invariably get the good and bad stories. That's unfortunately a barrier for a customer to overcome when being asked to spend hundreds on a cue.

I am not sure how Meucci can repair this. But if you say the cues are now well built and if they are backed by equally good service then that's a foundation you can certainly rebuild on.

Design? No question, then and now Meucci is still solid. The rest? Well time will tell.

im atill amazed... i had till now only 4 new meuccis in my hands... all flawless. played nice n smooth... when the original tip was changed.

the only thing i dont like about them are the tons of plastic in the cues. they should go back to use regular ebony for black forearms for example.

they are using a lot of plastic and cheap materials, to cut costs and save money.

r u from tx n'lookin for action or from ny, into photography, with a closet full of high end cues (or pics thereof) for sale?

O, btw, welcome back

JB I fault no one for venting I promise you that. The thing is that there are a lot of band wagon people here. What I mean is there are people on here that may have never touched a Meucci in there life but they some one say Meucci's are garbage and all of the sudden the person that has never touched one knows for a fact that Meucci is junk. See what I am saying? Also, yes sir I know there are a lot of cue builders on here and I am sure they build great cues. I was aiming what I said to people who don't have a clue is all

You can't assume that people who say Meucci's aren't good haven't had any experience with them. Just face up to it and say that you know things were spotty in the past and you can only speak about the current cues.

I had my own period where my former cases, Instroke, were not built the right way and I just got through it by fixing and replacing the ones we could and kept making them better. Even though I am not there any more Instroke is still a strong brand. Meucci is also still a strong brand and if the cues are good then you can bounce back. Realize though that the people on forums will eat you alive if you try to rewrite history.

WOW Meucci has his own left and right wing nuts lol

Seriously. Bob has had many ups and downs with his cues over the years.

They should have never reissued old cues and designs without designating them accordingly. I know its up to them, however IMHO it totally without consideration for the Meucci collectors that eat the older stuff up.

Bob has left a lasting impression with designs, and models and lines, and variants to "stock" cues and in a way he has been a 1980's/90's version of Palmer cues. Granted no one really tries to make Meucci tributes, which is a shame there are some designs that absolutely deserve "tributes".

Love him or hate him, the guy has really helped the sport of pool, he sponsored pro's, tournaments, etc... I don't think there was any other cue that could say won more championships from 1986-1996 give or take.

I had a Meucci JR-3 and I purchased it in 1987 with a Fellini Ostrich case. Best deal ever and I played with it for a year until I got a custom. I don't think you can count how many people started with Meuccis and then went to customs. Almost everyone I know had a Meucci. Whether they admit it or not, that is a different story.
