Very pretty older Meucci, "David Howard edition" with elaborate inlays in the butt and 4 sharp points. I'm told the "David Howard" models are very collectible but I'm no Meucci expert. Maybe someone here can elaborate on this model and it's age. The butt is straight and in excellent condition. The finish is very clean and shiny without any scuffs, dents or dings. Has the original white Meucci type wrap.

The original shaft is very straight with an 11.65mm ferrule. Has some bluing, will clean and buff before shipping. The total weight is 18.90 oz.. The pin is the Meucci standard 5/16 X 18 thread.

A friend asked me to list this Meucci, it is in my possession. He's asking $860 but would consider reasonable offers. Will ship USPS Priority to the lower 48 states for $15.. Very unique and good looking cue that plays very nice. Will try to post more close-up pics soon. Ask any questions. Thanks.

The cue is a David Howard #3 by Meucci, commonly referred to as the "Star of David". It was made back in the 80s and maybe early 90s. Very nice, collectible cue.

Years ago...

I think Meucci and the group was pretty proud of these at one time.

A guy I knew in Springfield Missouri, had a Meucci cue that warped or somehow couldnt get fixed. It was a pretty low end Meucci. They no longer made his model and asked if they could just send out another model. He said sure. This is the model they sent him, with an apoligy.

Wow, customer service. Wonder how it works now?

I will always remember that each time I see this model Meucci.

Thanks for the info Joe and Ken. lol on the service now available.

My first decent cue was an old "Gambler" ( not really that long ago ;) ). Played great without the whippiness claimed in the newer models. Wish I still had it even tho they must have made a gazzillion Gamblers.

I'm a little confused. Joe and Ken probably know more about these cues than I do but this cue appears to be the 95-23 model shown in the Blue Book (3rd edition) on page 525 and made in 1996. Same design but different materials it appears. I do note that the cue in this thread has "Meucci Originals" at th bottome of the butt while the one in the blue bood does not. Can someone clarify?

this cue was made at the same time as meucci was using the meucci originals loga on the butt, they did a series of cues for david howard, and jim rempe in that time era, and put daviud howard on the butt and for the rempe cues jim rempe on the butt, worth a few bucks more for the collector, i sold 2 of these last year and one had never been used and the points were still glowin white , i sold that one for 900 with 2 original shafts, im guessin yours to be worth in the neighborhood of around 5-600 in my opinion, that may not be worth much !!!

Ahhh I see it now. I didn't see the "David Howard" in the butt before. I had to look at it from the side of my screen to see it.

Look closer, young Grasshopper, and you will see that the colors are reversed on the 95-23, also. It has black points and boxes instead of white.

probaly one of the most intricate cues meucci ever did! and i have always loved the old whippy feeling of the older meuccis! nice cue!~

And if you can get $860 for this cue with one shaft in this market, it is the equivalent of hitting the lottery. For a better idea of FMV, you might want to do an ebay search for completed items.

There are no completed sales on ebay for "meucci howard cue". Not expecting to hit the lottery here... Thanks.

I've always wondered about this model, and it's nearly identical twin sister, the M-13 I believe. Which ever came first, why bring out the other???

I have owned two of the M-13's, back in my early addiction years and loved them both. I even went so far as placing eight 1/4 carat diamonds in the center of the red stars on my first, and eventually traded it for a Honda believe it or not. The second one I owned, I sorta still own. At least half of it anyway. Check out the far right from this old photo...

Here's an older reply on the same subject....

No ivory, its a plastic called implex. $500 - $700 on ebay generaly.

As I said, good luck. Lots of better cue choices at $860, which is why Meucci's don't generally sell for that kind of money. Unless you run into a collector with money. It does look to be in very good condition.

like i said 5-600 on ebay, have had pretty much all the david howard and jim rempes, other than the gold leaf cue i have it is probably the most sought after older meucci!

Thanks for all the info and estimated valuations guys. Will pass your thoughts on to the my friend the owner. Just trying to help a buddy out here. Maybe he'll adjust his reserve price.
