Meucci factory seconds

And hence the mystique of the Meucci Original continues.

I have one and it is a great cue, a real shooter. I will have more when I am in the position to buy. That was a prominent era...the Meucci craze...

Watch that ferrule though. They are thin and known to crack.

Enjoy the cue! :)

.

Thanks, Doc. Occasionally, you can find a gem on eBay for the right price. :)

In the old days, the Meucci seconds would have a groove cut into the buttsleave area. This was how they identified them. Back in the early 90s, you used to be able to go into their plant in Olive Branch and buy 2nds off the shelf.

So if you ever see old ones marked Meucci Originals and they have a groove cut in the, thats a sign of a second. Good cues for the price back in the day!

I agree. A company interested in quality would destroy those products that don't meet specs.

I've seen many Meucci's locally that I suspected we're seconds but weren't marked. However, I do have a Meucci Original that hits a ton. I'm about to pack it up and send to Mike Erwin for a refinish.

If I were Bob Meucci, I would start producing a "Classic" series with exactly the same specs as the Meucci Originals.

I think they did something like that with the Medici line of cues. Not a total re-pop of the specs, but I hear that the goal was to get back some of what the old cues had.

Doc,

The "Medeci" line of cues were produced for Bob in CHINA in order to fill a lower price point niche.

He "FIRED" them because of substandard quality.

IIRC the designs were by and large unique and not appealing (imo)

They must have been really bad if they were not up to Bobs current standards.
