Meucci history/shaft questions.

Okay guys, I have a few questions:

My buddy shoots with either a Meucci HOF-1, which is the remake of the M6 not sure if its new or old though, the weight system is not allen head they are flat head (new sticks are allen head). It has 2 shafts, with NO dots. The signature on the bottom is the new style lettering that they started after like 1985.

When was the M series introduced?
Did they have the original shaft?
When did Meucci go to the red dot?
With the shafts being no dot does that make if for sure an old one?
How can you tell a M7 or M6 apart from the HOF1 or HOF2?
So could this be an old stick that was made after 1985 but before the red dots were put on?
Or does Meucci still make a shaft that is no dot?
If so will that shaft be consistent with the playability of the original shaft?

I'm wanting an original shaft really, I like my black dot but I want the feel of the old shaft, while keeping my stick, any suggestions?

Thanks guys.

I could be wrong but I thought Meucci came out with the red dot when the Predator shaft was getting very popular. I heard a few pros that were using Meuccis were violating there contracts and using the Predator shafts with the Meucci butts so the red dot was an answer/competor to the predator.
So my guess is about 10 years ago or a bit less.

Hello, here is a web site that will answer most of your questions if not all!!!!!

Can't answer your questions but as memory serves we sold the red dot shaft as an option back around '97. I think at some point the red dot shaft became standard on Meucci cues and then came the laminated black dot shafts. The red dot simply meant that the shaft was measured for deflection and shooting with the red dot up meant the cue would be in the best position to allow the least amount of deflection.

meucci shafts

I'm not sure if they are the same as before 97, but they (Meucci) will make a "no-dot" shaft. I special ordered a couple cues from them (through a dealer) in Oct(just arrived by the way) and I remember this being an option. If you don't know a dealer, get the phone # from the website.
