Mezz results and coverage in general.

I'm always amazed at how slow results are posted for tournaments... it's Mon. morning and I can't find the results for the Mezz #13 at Hard Times anywhere. seems like pool coverage is always "when we get around to it".
No FB, no POV, nothing.

No POV or 'Real Time Feed Page' because we have nothing to do with them anymore. It's funny because I was looking for results too and found your thread. I miss watching some of my friends battle it out.

Agreed

Not only that, there was no thread in the live stream forums even mentioning the event. I found that very surprising as there have been announcements from Dez and Oscar in the past. I fell asleep while Beau and Oscar were battling it out but I believe Vilmos and Santos were still in it. Results anyone??

You guys have it good. The Mezz West Tour shares results exponentially faster than the original Mezz Tour on the East Coast.

Why did they get rid of POVPOOL???
They had it good .
SMH! Why is the pool world this way?

Looks like there was no winner....they chopped after 3:00 AM
....I feel not playing the finals shouldn't be allowed.

Naturally, being pool players, it wasn't mentioned WHO chopped

I believe it was a money thing, and unfortunately not handled in the best manner.

POV is good people and the Mezz tour is a good thing for pool out here.

Mezz tour puts together a quality event. Free streaming, live scoring (when WIFI available), added money, and a well run tournament. Definitely a good thing for pool out here.

Please take note there are TWO Mezz tours:

Mezz Tour is in the PA/NJ/DE/MD areas, and is owned and run by Jose Burgos. It has been in business for maybe 10 years.

Mezz West State Tour is run by Oscar and Desiree and was started last year or so.

Both tours are completely independent of each other.

Top 3 players of Vilmos, Beau and myself (Oscar) split. I won the hotseat. Beau and Vilmos were going to start at just a bit past 2 am. We all decided to call it a night and chop it up. Points will be evenly distributed as well although we are locked in for Top gun event.

By the time we packed up all our gear and ate, got home at 4am. Desiree went straight to work at 8am.

Thanks to those that understand. Those who don't, no hard feelings.

We encourage everyone to tune in for stop #14 in Fresno CA. Now it's time to do points, finalize hotel group rate and go fix pool tables. Unfortunately, Desiree and I are doing this tour for our personal enjoyment than our pocketbook.

All the best

Oscar

Sure, I was referring to the Mezz West State Tour, it's a quality event. If anyone has the time available, they should give one of the stops a try.

Personally, I'd like to see the Mezz West State Tour to be sucessful. They are trying their best to create a great experience for all of those that choose to participate. They have done some great things already, and more will come.

I'm always amazed how people think an entity should cater to everyone. The tournament ended at 3AM Monday morning and they had a live stream. If you wanted to see who won, why weren't you up watching? They provide a free stream service and you have the gall to complain because results weren't posting when you woke up. I hope you understand that after two extremely long days, players, tournament directors, and staff employees are anxious to get home and sleep. Results are always posted the next day after people rest up.

It's not complicated. Povpool did an amazing job streaming, however it wasn't free. They aren't running a tour for the fun of it so when they did the math and realized they could purchase equipment and stream on there own for cheaper, they did exactly that.

What the MWST has done with the stream and tablet software is excellent, so I'll take that over good anyday.

I was THERE 'till midnight. And no, results were not posted today... Oscar's post above explained why. There wasn't any info on the Mezz West site this morning. I get that everybody was bogged down into the early hours... my point is that absent streaming, there wasn't any non-stream info, which seems to be the norm now... there's no web guy to post it. Also it came to light that POV isn't involved... that explains a lot.
No gall involved... that is all.

Again I'll repeat myself again. They ended around 3 and got home around 4 in the morning. It's quite unreasonable to expect a post with results when YOU get up. Let them sleep a bit. If you're that impatient and start a nonsense thread then maybe you should have stayed till 3AM yourself.

I'm tired of Internet bangers complaining over horse crap. If you think running a tour is so easy, by all means go create one. Until then, just be happy we have a tour on the west coast.

Chris Santana here. I am responsible for the Mezz West State Tour Facebook, website, posters, graphics, advertisements, photography, brackets (done manually - not automated), apparel, and general marketing and event info for all tour stops.

There are FOUR people on our staff. Desiree runs the ENTIRE event almost single-handedly. Ra does ALL streaming and commentary (along with guests). And Oscar plays. We do not have "employees" - what we do we have are a few great friends and supporters who help us with technical support and set-up (Phil Prentice, Kevin May, and sometimes Mike Meeker). We all work very hard for something we love. We have spoiled a lot of spectators and fans across the world with live coverage, live scoring, and online brackets.

We all have lives and jobs outside of the tour (with the exception of Oscar who plays pool for a living )

Not that I have to explain myself or speak for the rest of us on the team, but the main reason why you didn't see much in terms of updates was because of me. I played in the event and did well, and that takes a lot of time and focus. What I do for updating the world on what's happening is on my own time to keep everyone interested and entertained. The events that I can't make it to because of money or life, end up lacking in those updates.

I don't know who you are but obviously we don't know each other otherwise you would know this. But now you know. We aren't just a pool tour. We are a growing family of pool players, fans, and friends who look forward to seeing each other every few weeks and cracking a few racks.

So now you know. If you want to complain in the future about "Mezz results and coverage in general" - come see me - Chris Santana. I'm the absurdly tall guy at nearly all events taking photos and hanging money balls.

WOW
People will complain about anything.

"WHAAAAAAAAA!
I'M NOT HAPPY ABOUT SOMETHING!
IT'S ALL ABOUT ME AND WHAT I WANT!
I'M THE ONLY PERSON THAT MATTERS!
ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME!
WHAAAAAAAAA!"

Get a friggin grip already
MWST team should just take their damn time and do write ups whenever the heck they want, and skip a couple every now and then just so the people who are incapable of dealing get all bent out of shape and lose their minds.

Thanks, Chris!... points taken, gentlemen.
