Mezz shaft ferrule problem that I've noticed.

Hi all, I've been playing with Mezz for sometime now, I've owned some shafts from them, but lately I have been playing with the Alpha hybird shaft, what I have noticed is something new to me that I haven't seen in any other brand/shaft out there.

Whenever I go to get the tip changed, the ferrule would seem that its getting thinner slightly, but not noticeable at first, if I change the tip 3 to 4 times it will get noticeable and you can see clearly that the ferrule itself is getting in bad shape, I don't know what to describe the shape of it because the word is not on the top of my head, but it would just get thinner.

At first I thought it's the guy who change my tips who is the problem, and is doing something wrong, then I start going to another guy, then another guy, with 3 different shafts, each one of them is getting the same exact problem, I can't think that all the guys that are changing my tips are all doing it wrong. With them same guys it didn't happen to my ferrule on the predator shaft, I understand that its made differentely, but my question is, what is it with the mezz ferrule that makes it getting thin out every time the tip is changed and what to do to prevent this from happening, Already i have 2 shafts that are destroyed, I can post a photo if you would like to see the ferrule and how it looks now, unplayable.

Looks can be deceiving.

Best bet is to measure the ferrule before and after. Go to Harbor Freight and buy an inexpensive digital caliper and use that to measure.

Yes, it's hard to believe every cuesmith you've taken it to is turning down the ferrule some more, but the proof is in the measurement.

Measure why? I can look at it very clearly, and with touch you can feel it, it will be thinner in the middle through the top of ferrule than the base of ferrule so the shape will be like a cone, but not a sharply coned, just slightly, and moving your fingers across the ferrule you can feel the curve by hand, even with eyes its so obvious, and this will develop upon changing tips couple of times as I said, if you change the tip once or twice it is hardly noticeable, but after 3 times to 4-5 it is 100% noticeable even at distance. I might bring a photo because even in a photo it will be clear to see. two shafts alrdy that I can't play with because of this, I still have one shaft but I'm now scared to change its tip if i have to due to this.
 
Tell your tip guy not to sand the ferrule after installing tip.
Don't use super glue, use wood glue or gorilla glue so you would not need to sand the excess on the side near the top of the ferrule.
 
That sounds like a hand sanding to me.
I've seen a lot of break cues that the ferrule wears down "cone" like due to follow through into the cloth.
It could also be the way you chalk your cue if the ferrule is "hourglassing"
It would certainly be more noticeable the more tips you go through....just by the amount of play and chalking you are doing.
