Michigan City WPBA - Need local info - Who's going?

...or closer than Chris's would be Red Shoes. It's probably 20 minutes or so past Jukebox in Alsip, Illinois.

Red Shoes is probably a little less than an hour from Michigan City.

Now that we're closing in on the Michigan City event, any AZer's besides Williebetmore and SJM planning on attending?

I'll be there for sure on Sunday for the tapings. I may be there Friday as well.

Just a little information concerning the venue....they are currently remodeling and adding considerable new facilities to the site. In addition to a tower of 300+ new hotel rooms, there will be new convention space. I'm guessing this will give the WPBA some room to "spread out" in future years as the Blue Chip is one of (if not) the smallest venues they play in on tour. I believe the room they currently utilize is around 5,000 square feet, and the new addition will provide a 15,000 square foot room. So, it still may be a bit cramped this year, but the future looks bright!

Hey, I'l be there...unless something happens to me between now and tomorrow. That is a pretty cramped space...but not our smallest believe it or not. I know there were alot of changes in progress last year when we were there. A convention center will be nice as long as it doesn't turn into the Albuquerque situation when they got a convention center. We kind of went from a great turn out and great publicity to the back burner.

See you guys this week.

Sarah,

They need to do something to compete/keep up as there is a new land-based casino just over the state line in New Buffalo, Michigan that has opened within the last year or so.

As far as publicity, one of the local papers here in NWIndiana ran a small story last year when the tour was in town. I haven't seen anything in either of the local papers yet this week, so I think I'll e-mail them the WPBA press release about the event with a reminder that it's this weekend.

Does anyone know if Jasmin Ouschean will be in attendance this week?

If any other AZ'ers attend, display your keychain so we can meet and put a face to the screen name.
