Any of you guys or girls using one of these. I looking for a repair lathe. I am thinking of getting the professional model, but should I get the large or small bore, and is there any option to get from the start. Thanks for any help in advance. Mike

Lots of people using them. Todd at midamerica is an awesome guy who also frequents these forums.

If you have the extra money get the large bore headstock this way you can work on joints and butts as well as everything else.

You can pm Todd as tsp&b I believe

I've been talking to Todd via Email. Just wanted to here some more feedback from others, and what can be accomplish with it. Any add on to get with the professional to start.

I started out on prof with small bore before he had the large bore. I had never used a lathe before and I loved it. I bought some parts off of Chris and some others and modified it to taper and later bought a large bore headstock. I agree with others, get the large bore up front if you can, you won't regret it.

Todd

I have the large bore professional, Invest in the large bore you wont be disappointed. I also have his cnc add on for tapering it works well. Not only is his equipment great but Todd will also take care of you and answer any questions you may have, his equipment and customer service is outstanding.

I had one, big bore and CNC set up. Todd was most helpful. If I go cutting wood again I will be going to Todd.

I have one too with the big bore and I bought a big bore spindle for one of my other lathes .

Do not get the small bore spindle, you will regret it.
