Cancer Care has been my day job for decades. There's always hope and many cancer types the treatments are remarkably better than ever. I'm glad he knows he's gotta put all his energy into this.

I don't have a clue which type of cancer it could be there's over 3,500 different types , I had P -16 HPV the cancer in my throat they're featuring on many TV commercials and for me the radiation treatments were nearly as difficult as the chemotherapy sessions .
During all this it's imperative that you continue to eat food if at all possible if you don't they make you get a feeding tube which isn't pleasant but will keep you going .

Just some words to possibly help understand a difficult topic .

He's on an IV. It's attached so they don't have to put it on and take it off every day. Mika will beat this! He knows he has a long period of discomfort ahead, but he's prepared for it. Mika is a Finnish warrior. They never quit! They believe in the SISU way. Look it up and you will understand.

Chemo port. I had one for lymphoma. Hopefully that's what he has because its very gettable if done early.

Garczar congratulations on beating lymphoma ! I was surprised I didn't get port for chemo but then when I did it was each Friday and my veins were pretty good and rarely ever blew out .
I'm keeping Mika in my prayers for a complete and speedy recovery !

His prognosis is serious, but treatable. He has a long haul ahead of him. Good to know so many people are in his corner.

One thing is certain I think, not any longer will Mika be a target for mocking from us, ready AZBers, for his hand flipping and being a sore loser.

Even if he manages to return to professional play and still remain a sore loser, he will forever be a major winner. Wishing him well, Godspeed!

Sad to hear and get well Mika! It's a battle going thru it and sending best wishes. I hated even hearing about the C word but since going thru treatment and the positive words from the Oncologist, Radiologist and being able to talk about with friends/family and staying positive has really helped me.
