I haven't heard anything about Mika lately. Has he been playing in many tournaments? Has he hit a dry spell? He was winning tournaments left and right or at least placing well but lately I haven't seen any headlines about him.

Mika is still playing in most tournaments. He has cooled off as compared to his 2008/09 run of tournament wins. The last big tournament he won was The Masters 10 ball in Chesapeake in March. He has had a bad habit of winning straight through he group stage matches in big tournaments like the world championships, China Open etc and then losing in the first round of the single elimination. He is still playing well, just not dominating like he did before.

Hope that helps.

Iam with you on this one,i havent seen his name at all lately on any tournament charts, wasnt at this past turning stone, unless he has been over seas and we just wasnt aware of it,like someone said before me,Mika went from winning everything he entered,to being very invisable!

I believe he is still one of the biggest threats to win any event he enters. I will offer to bet $175 against $100 on every match he plays at the US Open if anyone thinks he isn't going to get up there.

Hopefully that did not come off as rude, just trying to make an action offer.

I dont think id take that bet if it began in round 4.

Finally, the Americans are playing more, and because of it getting their game back, to me this is a big factor as to why his dominance here' has diminished.

I wouldn't bet against him. He's still very much near the top of the pros.

I wonder if getting hammered by SVB last year in the TAR match ruined his mojo a bit

SVB had definitely been on a roll. That might have something to do with it but we might not ever know. There could be a number of reasons:girlfriend, burnt out or lost motivation,or another personal reason.

Thats was my first thought. Kinda sucks though I always really enjoyed watching him play.
I did too,as long as he is playing well and in the right mind set. I hate seeing him though when he's losing and complaining heavily,as he has in previous matches.

Huh? He was just at the Guiness Championships in July, and the World 14.1 championship late last month.

We're talking about Mika Immonen, he's not going anywhere.
