Mike Dechaine: Are You Sold Yet?

Does this cement Mike's spot on the Mosconi?

I don't see how Mike is guaranteed a spot in the Mosconi....
....he was regarded as the second best American rotation player last year...
....I think he should be a cinch....MW made a mistake, IMO

Mike got cemented like Hoffa did....

American pool vs. World pool

Some players don't like tournaments for a lot of reasons. They don't like waiting around to play. Action matches gets their heart pumping and they play much better than in tournaments. I never was as good in tournaments than I did one on one. I felt in tournaments that I already paid my entry fee and that's all I could lose. In action, it's not over until I run out of money or quit. It's hard to explain. Johnnyt

I think more need to understand this point. SVB does not play his best in tourney play. He is hungrier for the money. Dechaine is the same.,but I think his vanity carries him better in tournaments. (my opinion)

There is legion underneath these guys in American pool.Their hunger can burn in tournament or money play.

Is Dechaine ready ??? You bet he is !!! His concentration needs to remain on the game and that is something of which he has improved.

Mike has just tied for 9th at the WPA World championship. Are you sold yet?

I was sold when I saw the way he came through the losers bracket at Turning Stone.

His play has matured so much in the last year.

He had his chances in the Worlds, if it weren't for hooking himself after Ko jawed the 5...and then the scratch on the break.....he could have made it to the semi's.

Mike played his heart out today. He had one huge comeback win. The set he lost he was down as well, then hung the 9 ball at double hill.

His game is world class in every sense. I hope he stays active on the world stage. There's only so much room at the top. His game is strong enough that he deserves to be there.

Yes, Mike was America's second best player and, to be honest, I think he was playing a little better a year ago than he is now.

Let's hope being America's second best doesn't count against him this year.

No doubt, tied for 9th at the World Championship will probably earn him half as many Mosconi points as if he'd come fourth in some bar table event in Idaho.

I've bought my Mosconi seat but I won't buy my flights or make my hotel reservations until Mike is named.

I think Wilson had something to do with Mike and Shane playing matches before this trip, traveling together, and playing in the doubles tourney together. See how they work as steam, etc

Who would you pick out of Mike Dechaine and Scott Frost for the Mosconi Cup Team?
