Mike Dechaine, where are you?

Over on Sherdog(MMA website) forums, they have a strict policy about not bashing/bad mouthing fighters. You pretty much get an insta ban for it. I think the rule is two fold, one to respect the professionals, and two, to encourage pro fighters to post on the forums.

IMO, AZB should adopt this stance and come up with specific definitions for what would be considered bashing pro players. Even if they post on the forums or not. 1st time warning, 2nd time perma ban.

I completely agree with this.

I believe pros should be given protection in something like the Ask a Pro, or Ask the Instructor Forum. Sorta like the Wanted/For Sale Forum where you're not allowed to dog another person's sale listing.

But on the Main Forum, no. In the Main Forum everyone should play by the same rules. And that *includes pros* who should not be allowed to mock, insult, and bait other posters.

I get that people joke WITH Mike about his head, but the intention of that blog was not to lovingly joke with him, it was to maliciously attack and hurt him. It wasn't just his melon that was attacked, it was his intellect, his ability, and his identity. Every sentence was dripping with spite.

If you look at the phycology behind hurtful and spiteful comments like that, you see that they are really statements about oneself.

shes stupid - Im smarter than her
hes ugly - Im more attractive than him
hes less - Im more

Humans behave for one of two reasons, walking toward something they like or walking away from something they don't like. When you put someone down your really just trying to put yourself up. Its crazy how many on here felt the need to do that. Maybe they get even a bigger kick out of it to do it to a pro. Makes them feel that much more ok with themselves.

Kinda explains the success of reality tv ?

From what I understand, bashing anyone isn't allowed on this site. I don't think anyone should be treated differently on here.

LOL. I was giving a lesson on last table in the room long before and AFTER the finals had finished. Second to Cody Francis, Third Samoth and Fourth was Jordan Labbe. Hmmm. And are you the gentlemen that was telling me how I aim? lol

And, do you have the results out past the finals? I know of someone who wuz supposedly gonna play in it?
Second was Josh and third went to Samoth.."who looks and strokes like Efren's long lost brother".....

As far as MD goes....
He was 3 tables down, during and after the finals, making prop. Bets and making himself the center of attention......maybe I'm just old BUT their used to be a thing called "Pool Etiquette", the more I get back into the game, the less of it I see. It truly used to be a Gentlemen's Game......what a sin.....

There is a difference between being in the spotlight and PUTTING oneself there while disrespecting your fellow Mainers while they play for a State Title!
( see my OP," Maine State 9-ball Results")

Mike,

I was there. I didn't see that you were out of line and I told the guy so on his other thread.

I wish I knew you were giving lessons, I would have gotten in line.

It was great to see you. There are a lot of us that admire your skill on the table.

That's a LESSON??
So....you making multiple proposition bets with cash on the table on the front table,( not the last table), was a figment of my imagination.....kind of like your respect for your fellow pool players??

Yes, Ernest and I were playing races to 7 and he could wrote down and asked whatever questions he wanted. We had finished the second to last set and we both wanted a ten minute break. This was after the finals was over. Who are you to talk bad about it when everyone in the room was having a good time. WOW.

I answered everyone of this guys answers all weekend. He told me I was wrong every time. I smiled, walked away and answered that next one. I don't understand some of the people on here.

Hey Doug,

I am going to working with the new owner a lot up there. Hopefully we can schedule something that works for everyone. I also am going to be doing a challenge match with Dave Hall in the near future. Looking forward to going back up there..

Seems like there are alot of Crybaby types in this game anymore..... "quit bullying me...., ohhh, he sharked me....", Get over it!!! Maybe Mike was just having a little fun!!!! Ever think that maybe someone could have a little fun playing this game??? Heck as long as you arent physically screwing with my shot then I really don't care... bring the loud music, dancing girls, chatter at me, stand in front of my shot... no biggie it's still going down. Are you guys that are whining the same kids that cried in Little League Baseball because they chattered at ya when you were up to bat????? "Hey batter, batter....." Lol I think You need to leave guys like Mike alone, quit your crying and maybe practice on your concentration... maybe your nerves too..... Cry Babies!!!!!

Sounds to me like the player you wanted to win the finals didn't win and you need someone to blame it on.

You're talking about respect yet showing none yourself. If he was out of line then, you're out of line now...

Actually....

Sounds to me like the player you wanted to win the finals didn't win and you need someone to blame it on.

You're talking about respect yet showing none yourself. If he was out of line then, you're out of line now...

Actually....I was one of the few people in the room that was actually watching the finals and enjoyed watching the game being played at a high level. Where is the disrespect? Just calling it as I saw it happen....

Hey there Chris, what do you think about people hiding behind fake names bashing anyone, pro or other?

I don't mind anyone having their own opinion about me and stating it, I learned a long time ago it's none of my business how other people "feel" about me. Trying to control other people's feelings is silly and unproductive.

If someone is going to negatively "bash" others I think they should at least do it under their own name, or it's just petty. Hiding and throwing negative trash talk is what it is.....and we all have our own opinion about that answer.

This is why I put my name in my sig area.....I want people to know who I am. I think if people put their real names down, they wouldn't say half the crapola. JMHO

The finals match sounds like it was more boring than what Mike had going on LMAO. Maybe the guys in the finals need to take a page from Mike's book. Sounds like eveyone over at Mikes table was having fun... Where were the finals being held??? At a retirement home???? :rotflmao1:

So you were one of the only people who actually cared and you're mad at one person because nobody cared. Makes sense.
