I have had the pleasure to represent Mike & Scott Erwin in selling their cues. I agree so much in the statements that a " who's who " list should be started !! I respect all cue makers with their crafts, but, can easily put The Erwins at the top of the list. Every Erwin Cue I have received has become like Christmas as they look like furniture instead of a pool cue and they play fantastic. I do not know to many who can match the color schemes with the woods better than these two. They do need just a few more people behind them, that is very true. If Mr. Erwin advertised his resume, people would be surprised to learn who has learned their trade under him. Plain Merry Widow Cues with exotic wood or basic points sell for about $ 260.00 to $ 325.00. His 2 point to 4 point cues with ivo_y diamonds, tri-windows, stitched collars, choice of wrap, sell for about $ 550.00 to $ 700.00 depending upon window arrangements, this with two shafts. I will also say, choice of taper and two shafts for this price !!! Unreal. Probably America's best handmade cue maker for the price !! I've sold two of Mr. Erwin's "Masterpiece Cues" for over $ 1,250.00 and again with no dis respect, cue of the year status, easy. The Erwin Cues are easily under valued at 30 % right off. The plus is, Mr. Erwin is an every day hard working man who wants to put the best cue in the hands of all his customers. I just sold a purple heart break cue only with white diamond tip for $ 275.00. A break / jump Mike Erwin would get me $ 350.00
I personally shoot with a Mike Erwin Cue made in 1998. I've bought and sold over $ 1200 cues since then, I still shoot with the same Erwin Cue. I only started to sell Erwin Cues a year and a half ago. My biggest regret is not selling his cues ten years earlier, but, missing out on not having known Mike Erwin ten years earlier is just a shame for me. Do him a favor and look him up !!, order a cue and you'll have the same respect for his products and for him as much as I do. Thanks,
Sometimes though, and this is just food for thought. Things like this are not any good at all for the cuemaker, as it can hamper their ability too command any kind of price for their work. Just an honest opinion. Not trying to stir any trouble. Good luck with your new cue.
