This is an awesome Hoppe style "Jensen" cue built by legendary cue maker Mike Johnson.

This cue has 4 razor sharp points with 4 veneers (purple, green, red, white), an ivory ring at the butt, ivory ferrules and a flawless leather wrap. The butt sleeve and points are Ebony with a Birdseye maple front. I've examined this cue today and it's in excellent condition ready for action.

This cue which lists for around $1500, is only going up in value as Mike slows down in his later years. He is one of the few remaining cuemakers from the Gus Szamboti era who still builds cues using many of the same techniques as Gus. I've owned many of Gus's cues, and this cue feels and plays just like a Szamboti. Back when I was playing, this was my one-pocket cue. I've just ordered a new cue from Scott Sherbine and have decided to part with his cue since it's no longer being used.

Cue Specifications:

Weight = 19.3 ounces
Shafts = 13mm (one Moori, one Triangle)
Wrap = Leather
Length = 58"
Price = $900.00

Shipping will be $20.00 for US Priority Mail. PayPal is preferred.

Is this the same cue that was on your website ?? I must have left 30 messages and sent 30emails on either this cue or a similar cue, none of which you ever did return.

Very nice cue. Was thinking of bidding after seeing the pics. Is it elephant or mammoth ivory? Say mammoth!

Yes...this is the cue that was on my website. I must have been having an email problem, because I always tried to return emails.

Jensen's

Had the good fortune to meet up with and play Cole Dickson when I was up in Montana. This cue is almost identical to the one Cole plays with -leather wrap, ivory ferrules - the veneers may be a little different but they are very close. Cole is great friends with Mike Johnson (Jensen) and stays at Mike's house when he is in Baton Rouge. He believes that there is no finer cue made than a Jensen.

Wonder if it sold for 9hundredgazilliondollars of the BAY or if it was pulled because the market didn't agree with the seller's perception of value:confused:

An AZBer (unfortunately not me) did end up with that cue. I have a Jensen Hoppe copy that I was hoping would mate with that Hoppe copy and kick out lots of other Hoppe copys!:o

Salamander, I don't know what started the whole insult exchange that I just deleted from this thread but it looked like it was your doing.

I have said over and over and over that I will not tolerate insults towards other users of the forums.

I seen Mike at the Derby and talk to him regularly. He doesn't appear to be slowing down and I don't think he would appreciate your opinion about his age affecting his business.
