Mike Lambros or Mike Webb?

My firend has a Lambros I want when he dies, it is willed to me. One of the best playing Cue I have hit with.

So just for the best playing cue, not design. Is the ultra joint a real breakthrough in feel and response?

Hit with them both pick the one you like.

I have tried a few Lambros cues with the Ultra Joint and didn't care for it but it will absolutely function like any good pool cue does and will serve you well. It's largely a matter of personal choice.

Both fantastic cues can't go wrong with either that being said I personally think the Lambros build wins in the playability area...BUT it is a matter of preference as with any cue...I hate the hit of Southwests while most people love them so take what is said here as personal likes

I have hit balls with a friends Lambros & I now own a Mike Webb (Ivory over SS) joint & both cues play very strong. You can`t go wrong with either cue maker IMHO as others have already said, its all in what you want in a cue. Only you can make that choice.
Just my thoughts Hope this helps & GL in your search.

I have had a Mike Webb as my main player for almost 15 + years and his cues have only gotten better. His customer service is second to none. He offered recently to refinish my cue and he said he would change anything he did not like for the same price as a normal refinish.

Mike is a great guy and a great cue maker:thumbup:

Depends...

If you are going to use the original shafts...definately Lambros, they hit absolutely amazing.

If you were to decide later that you wanted to use a predator or other LD shaft, stay away from the la,bros, it's why I sold mine, can't get a pred shaft for it, would have to be custom made, and his LD shaft I didn't care for.

Great hitting cue tho, I'm just an old dog and like my predator shafts. I've found that for me, cues wih funky joints just get in the way of my plans, no matter how well they play.
To each their own.

There are many, many cues made with questionable features as far as enhanced performance. Lambros' Ultra Joint is not one of them. Its design is based on solid engineering and together with tip to bumper attention to detail results in cues that over and over again are described as having a great hit.

Every detail of a Lambros cue has been scrutinized with an eye toward playability and feel. If the Ultra joint offered no improvement it wouldn't be used.

The Ultra joint offers a superior connection between the tip and your grip. Its like broadband for your cue. All information coming from the shaft is transmitted to your grip hand with accuracy, detail and nuances intact. High definition, if you will.

I thought it was all a bunch of hype until I hit with one. I had a monster Scruggs that was my dream cue and I thought I would always play with. One hit with a friends lambros and I knew that I could never play with the Scruggs again. I can't explain it other them to say that it's like pounding nails in a board. It's amazing...

I really love the feel of the Lambros hit,but found the shaft did up
snug tight but not lock tight if that makes any sense.I found
myself always checking to make sure it was done up tight and felt
on certain shots like it was loosening as the night went on.

Everyone I've had, had done the same thing. His regular shafts do
play heads beyond his LD shafts as somebody has already stated
but its that joint that makes me leery every time.
I'd go with the Webb,if I were you.

what's the deal with the "ultra joint", does anyone have details about this joint and why its so good?

The contact surfaces of the joint are sloped. This gives a greater contact area in the joint than is possible with a flat joint.
