neither mike or i had more than an hour to learn how to control the cueball on that cloth so all in all i think he played great.i also dont think i played bad ,especially considering the balls would not open off the break many times for him or i.
my hats off to him he showed heart and proved what ive been saying about him for a month prior to the match and that hes a great player and i have my hands full.
anyway im dissapointed i lost but its not the first or last time it will happen and thanks for people for tuning in. ok off to the next adventure bye for now
 
As a fan of the game that was a enjoyable match to watch. Great play for both of you who knows you don't miss the 7 and you run out.

I enjoyed watching you play at the Predator 10 ball event only problem with the BCA league format if you win you don't have time to watch you great professionals play.

The bottom line is you're a champion and one of the very best 14.1 players on earth. Games to 125 can go any direction no matter who's playing who.

I was there at the Roseland Ballroom in person when you beat him at the US Open 14.1 (which was REALLY exciting) and I watched the match online. The bottom line is it's REALLY exciting to watch you and Mike play (more than anyone, I think). I hope you guys play a lot more. For two players of your caliber playing one game to 125, getting upset is like losing in a 9-ball tournament with a race to 3. I know you wanted to win, but there wasn't any runway at all. I would pay decent money to watch a race to 1000 with you two.

P.S. Is there anyone who wouldnt pay to watch an action challenge with these guys??? MAN, was that match fun to watch the other day!

ive been saying for 8 years 14.1 is easy to understand and watch for the spectator. if there is a shot clock its the best game to sweat because there is constant shooting little safeties and the drama of big runs and big comebacks.
maybe people now will notice that 14.1 is very watchable .im bummed i lost but thrilled i got a chance to showcase how great a game it is to watch.its also a great measuring stick. now days people say my buddy is a champ at pool or my grandpa is a hustler etc etc. in the old days of 14.1 if someone said my grandpa is great at pool and has a verified high run of say 200 then you would say oh yeah he is great at pool.its a great measuring stick of ability because there is a number attached to it.
nowadays if your a 7 in some league thats considered being good at pool.
i see people in leagues who are 7s and i guess im a 7 to so i guess we play even. pool needs a real rating system so people really know their level like bowling.in golf if someone says im great at golf, its whats your handicap ,oh a plus 3 yeah i guess you do play great.
in bowling its i have a 234 average yeah you are great.
when i say im great at pool the immediate answer is usually something to the effect of yeah i used to play great like you as i hustled my way through college.
or my cousin is great at pool on friday night she puts her quarters up and can win all night without buying beer.
or my brother is a mechanic but believe me john you would not want to play him pool for money.
in the old days you walk into any poolroom in america and 14.1 was all they played. if mosconi walked into a poolroom and said im great at pool someone who has never ran 100 but tried for years would not say i used to be great at pool as i hustled my way through school ,they would say whats your high run .mosconi would then say 526 . instead of telling mosconi i have a mechanic brother who you would not want to play for money the guy would instead say can you please sign this cue for my mechanic brother lol.

John,

Irving Crane was an awesome 14.1 pro player and who coached Mike. Irving was the best safety player I have ever seen and contributed to his strong play.

Where did you learn the game and whom were you mentors? Hope to see you again next time you come to the Chicago area.

Hi John,

Thanks for the information. On another note how is the golf game? When do you anticipate your 14.1 DVD with "on shot analysis" will be available? That is a wonderful idea in that it provides the viewer with the shot selection rationale in "real time" as you see it.

Nice play by both of you. I was expecting a lot more innings considering the equipment. Who was the girl sitting next to you during the 8-ball match, wife/girlfriend?

Gotta be honest

I tuned into IPT to watch Tony Robles match. Although I remember a month or 2 ago when "the Mouth" was saying he was going to play you, and the polls asking who we wanted to see...I voted you and Sigel.

You guys didn't let me down. It's a tough run when you're in a short race to 125, but you both stayed professional. At least I didn't have to hear Mike saying "why'd he do that? I wouldn't have done that. He would never last against me. me me me". (That's my impersonation of Mike Sigel as a commentator). You guys did great.

Usually, when we talk about pool around here, people don't say "Yeah I'm good too..." it's usually "Well. We'll have to play sometime". I agree, we need a standard system with all these new games people play.
 
John I will say it like this.... You are a Champion... Mike is/was a Champion............It was a even match.........Yall both played great!
