Mind the buyer's premium....

I just saw an auction for a very expensive pool table. The minimum bid is $44,000 and there is a buyer's premium of 30%. The table originally sells new for $69,000. So, why would someone buy a used table with a opening bid of $44,000 plus 30%, that's like $57,000 and you still have to ship it. I bet the new table at 69k comes with free shipping and a warranty.

Oh, well. Problems I dont have to worry about. The table might be related to Usher...yeah, that guy. Check it out:

And, no, I am not interested, nor can I afford the table. I was watching this auction for the Dr. Seuss Taxidermy!

Long reach from the end rails.
Just use the bridge. Oh, wait, there isn't any bridge.

And if you buy new from Toulet instead of at auction, you can customize the design, like get it in chartreuse with neon orange cloth. They do make some interesting designs.

On the one hand, OP has pointed out that people do not often make good economic judgements.

On the other hand, if buyer has the money and still wants that ugly thing, is it not our duty to separate him from his money ?????

Obviously it's more statement furniture than pool table.

With that website I recommend checking reviews and GOOGLE searches on the auction house/company.
