Mini Miscue?

Sometimes when using extreme English I think I can feel my tip slipping slightly on the CB - not enough to be called a miscue (or to miss a shot), but enough to noticeably reduce the spin I'm trying to get. Does anybody else experience this kind of "mini miscue"?

I think I've heard that it's pretty much all or nothing with miscues, but I wonder if any tests have proved or disproved it? Am I hallucinating again?

Although very rare, it has happened to me, and to my friends.
We call it "misotsaf" (me-so-cha-f)
(miso = greek for "half"
tsaf = greek pool slang for miscue, basically comes from the sound a miscue makes)

Basically it's something in between a good hit and a complete miscue. You feel something wrong in the hit but not as dramatic as a full miscue and the cue ball does not go where it was supposed to but again not dramatically wrong as a full miscue. It's a halfmiscue :P

Yep, I call it a tip slip. Usually happens during a slow stroke, and you don't get that miscue sound. But the cueball squirts off much more than normal squirt.

All the best,
WW

That's not true. The tip can start to lose contact during the latter part of the incredibly brief contact time, resulting in a "partial miscue." It usually sounds a little funny and can result in more CB deflection (squirt) than expected (if the tip is off center for sidespin).

Am I hallucinating again?
... probably so, but that's another matter entirely. :grin-square:

Regards,
Dave

I have experienced these for years when using full size balls and mini cues.

I think small bad contacts are definitely possible.

I have a shaft with a very low tip and hard extreme draw does it about every time.
