Just grabbed a few things that turned out pretty nice.

A pair of his signature white shoes worn by Fats with a COA signed by Fats wife Evelyn and Rich Youngman.

A ticket to see Fats play Don Anderson, signed by Fats

And a little flyer/ad for Minnesota Fats Enterprises, Inc., signed by Fats

Those items are really valuable. The Minnesota Fats collectibles bring more than Hoppe, Mosconi, or any other famous player. That business card would be cool to have

Your collecting some cool stuff. :)

Yea, been getting lucky

This auction I did my homework on. I talked to several people who knew about this stuff and knew the people involved.

I will usually pay more for collectibles that have a traceable path and/or a story behind it. This had both. :)

The signed ticket and the signed foldable business card are both fairly rare, even unsigned. The shoes are something maybe not a lot of people would care about but I think they are neat, especially knowing the story behind them.

The license plate "MF 11" is also nice even though it is from his wifes car. He had "MF 1" and his wife had "MF 11".

Keep in mind, Fats did not write well, hence the silver ink stamp which is pretty well known. If the signature is legible it's probably a fake.

I'll show you a few shaky autographs I've got, they are legible but not pretty. Certified legit, too.

got this stick you can put with the plate, Patrick.

He used a stamp at least as far back as 1982, as I was there.

I'd like to know where the Rambow is too. It was a nice one.

All the best,
WW

Minnesota Fats stamped a pool tournament program for me when I was twelve years old held at Hotel Senator in Sacramento in 1978. He stamped the front cover that had his picture and inside article about him. He walked up to me in the lobby, patted me on the head and said “how are you doing kid” I responded and he then said “would you like an autograph?” “I said yes Sir.” My cousin asked me “do you know who he is” and I said ”yes that’s Minnesota Fats” and then my cousin asked “why did he come talk to you?“ “I don’t why” was my response. I was a rather shy kid and there really wasn’t any other kids at the tournament that I can remember… that’s probably why Fats came over to talk to me. I had already had autographs from Louis Roberts, Dan Louie, and I think Kim Davenport and a few others but when Fats pulled out a silver stamp from his pocket and inked it up and stamped my program I thought that was pretty slick! To me that was way cool! I was old enough and around pool enough at that age to know that Fats wasn’t the greatest pool player of all time but I also knew he WAS the greatest showman and a great ambassador to the game. Fats gave me really great memory that I’ll never forget!

Frank Stellman (aka Sailor Cues ) had a dollar bill on the wall is his shop signed New York Fats. That was Fatty’s earlier monicker.
Frank was very proud of owning that signed dollar bill.

I often wonder what happened to all his life’s collection. His shop was loaded with pool memorabilia. Recently found out his son has passed as well…
