Miscue reason?

Don’t act so surprised about the direction this thread is taking, Woody....
....you know the chalking is gonna get abrasive.

Can't help but agree with you, PT.

The notion of

..." that chalking technique will leave thick and thin chalk spots on the tip, with plenty of dust just sitting on top..."

Well, let's just say that made my day, as AZ often does. Just when I think it can't get more weird, then it does. How chalk produces dust, and no evidence, I'm still contemplating.

Let's just chalk it up to the nature of AZ. Brings out some characters... In olden days, maybe they could have been a Da Vinci. Today, I fear they are mostly over-medicated.

All the best,
WW

Set the chocks, so it don't slide downhill any further.

Last night i played 5 games of 8 ball on a 7 foot Diamond table at league.
Now granted on a baby table you seldom have to hit anything hard but I did not miscue once.
Maybe Jay is right and i did dog my stroke for the cheese.
But i am 18 wins 2 loses so far in league.
arf!

We in here talking about "chalking". I mean listen, we talking about chalking. Not a game, not a game. We talking about chalking. How silly is that. What are we talking about? Chalking? We talking about chalking man.

I love iversons rant so much....one of the best ever

Yesterday I miscued badly.
I looked at the tip and saw the miscue spot.
There was no chalk on it and it was shiney.
Was this a case of a bad draw stroke or a glazed tip?
Triangle tip and magic chalk.
I always chalk up before a draw shot.

I made the shot but the cue ball did not draw back.
I needed to draw back about a foot and bounce off the rail to make the next shot that would have won the game!
So drawing back a foot was a pretty easy stroke.

This is a major flaw in my stroke I deal with all too often. I actually had a friend video me in 120fps slow-mo with my phone so I could review what I was doing when I skip under the CB when I draw. It doesn't always happen but when it does it bugs the hell out of me and is embarrassing.

What did I learn? My stroke needs a LOT of work.

Back to the drawing board, again!
