i just threw one on and was so surprised at how similar to the old mooris they are. i bought a medium one from ebay for a about 8 bucks shipped and threw it on my shaft. the tip plays great! no joke if the color was a little darker i would have thought someone just wrote molavia instead of moori on it!

I've been using them for about a year and half and thats exactly what i have told everyone!!!

You have simply forgotten what the Old Mooris played like.... I tried the Molavia when the old mooris were still available and while it is somewhat similar it is not even close on COR......

Hoss I will give you that... A Molavia medium is closer to the original moori than the new moori... The wizard tip also seems to be a very close playing tip.... I couldn't count the tips I have tried now trying to find one exactly like the original moori but to absolutely no avail.... The SS Kamui is pretty close when it is first put on... Sadly it beats down in under a month and loses it's bounce... The Medium Kamui doesn't have much bounce to start with......

At this rate I may find a pig skin supplier and start trying to make them my friggin self.. I would bet at this point I could have bought a decent press with the money I have paid for the tip of the month........

At this point I just thru my hands up and went back vice pressed LePros until something else comes along...

Anyone tried the Hirano?? LOL

To be honest i've done the same thing. i've had a problem with kamui's glazing over so i'm staying away from them. 20 for thetip just to buy a 30 bone tip tool so it can not glaze over.

i ran into a couple of really good talisman mediums but lately every one i install delaminates on me.the ones that don't play good though!

i'm sticking with these molavia's. imo they're the closest to moori you can get and they feel good when i hit the ball with 'em. i might buy a few more just in case they pull a moori and let their quality control slip!

i'd like to try and hear a review of a hirano tip too! anyone have an opinion on those?

i've not had good experiences with the molavia's...the hard and regular ones I tried were hard as a rock...and i like hard tips! the soft was decent hardness-wise, but the hit i didn't like that much. kind of a dead, mushy feel. i'd rather have a moori or kamui brown

the hirano tips are excellent tips! the medium is harder than most mediums, i'd say it's more like a medium-hard. but plays excellent. the soft is more like a normal medium. the hit and sound is very nice, and feels really solid. holds shape, doesn't mushroom. cuts nice on the lathe, burnishes up well. the only small issue i found was that the hirano's are a bit thinner than other layered tips, so when they install, they aren't as tall. this may not bother some, but some may be expecting more meat on their tip. my top 3 layered tips would be (in no particular order), moori, kamui brown, and hirano.

GET YA A MILKDUD!! Cant beat the price and performance...imo

hey i'm a milkdud fan but i learned to play using moori tips. i'm just really into layered tips.

So these hirano tips are pretty good huh! i'll have to try them out next. i gotta figure the fewer and thicker layers might be a good thing
