So I've had my cue for about a year now, it came with two shafts both with moori mediums. (Cue was made in 07, but bought it unused last summer) and I liked the tip ok, got about the same action out of it as the tips on my other cues, and I try to use all my cues so it hasn't seen a whole years use. Last few times playing though I've been having a hard time getting position. Suddenly I started miscueing tonight while trying draw or top shots. Frustrated I grabbed my shaper and was about to go to work when I saw a black line in my tip, I pressed my thumb against it and the whole two top layers came right off, and it was solid blue underneath from chalk getting in there, then I looked closer and every layer in this tip was separating, applied a little pressure to the side and they all separated no problem, totally dry. Could this just be because of age even though it's only been used within the last year? just wondering if I should have the tip on the second shaft replaced at the same time if it's caused by age, though I have some older cues with unknown tips that I have had no problem with
