I've searched about this subject before making a new thread, but here's what the guy who installs my tip said to me.

Moori stopped shipping out tips, they're done.

Now I am not sure if this is true or not, please let me know if the guy knows what he's talking about, did Moori tip company stopped making tips and closed or something? Because here in our country we don't have moori anymore, at all.

Another part of my thread is to ask, I'm pretty used to moori medium, specialy the medium, and now I am lost and don't know which tip i should install, Any of you know a tip that has the same exact feel of a moori medium please let me know? Oh and I've tried Kamui black medium, and soft, and super soft, they are not like Moori and I didn't like them, if you got any other ideas please tell me.

thanks

No they're not done but they've gone downhill and their tips are not what they used to be.

Moori

There has been a lot written on both sides about Moori on AZB. I have only had one, a Moori III Quick. The installer had problems with all 5 tips he bought and mine may have been the only one he eventually was able to stick onto a ferrule. I have had it for about 2 years and I really like the tip. I never tried one of the old tips that everybody looks back upon so fondly. At the rate mine is flattening, I may never need to replace it. Mine is a great tip. Hard tip, but no problems with extreme English. I hope they can regain their prominence.

I was told by the Owner of a Pool & Darts Supply Store in the Valley of the Sun, the company who made the Tips was effected by the disaster in Japan. Supply in the USA is shot, or not available. In 6-8 months the pipe supply line should be up and running, and the shortage will go bye bye.

Hope not. I just installed two today. I haven't ordered any in about 6 months because most of my customers are requesting Kamui Blacks. I still like the Moori III mediums and the one I put on a Meucci Original today hits and feels great.

I purchased a dozen mediums a couple of years ago and had problems with a couple coming off. I had never had that issue before. I read on the Cuemaker's Forum that it helped to prime the glue side of the tips with thin cyano. Problem solved.

Done

I heard from an installer that the gentleman who started Moori tips is very ill, and nobody has stepped up to purchase the company or his secrets. Unless that is done, they will be extinct.

try a wizard medium, i think they are close to a moori. i replaced my moori with a thomas tip not long ago(2 months), still shootin with it so they are also very good.

If your Moori tips are popping off, its definitely the installer, not the tip. As mentioned, Moori tips have to be primed before gluing to the ferrule. They are very porous, and if they are not primed, they will absorb all the glue, preventing a good glue bond with the ferrule. This has been covered many times throughout the years in the ask the cue maker section.

yes, i use them now for a while (G2 Medium) it s the best Tip i tried out the last years, also for me better than kamui;moori,..
best from Germany Maik

yea I've tried G2 tips, but what I had was super soft, it wasn't for me, I didn't like the hit of it because I'm so used to play in mediums i think....maybe G2 medium would be better for me.

but yea thats exactly what I heard too, whoever still sells moori its their last storage of the tip I think, ask them when did they recieve a shipment from moori last, I'm so used to that tip so i will have alot of troubles if they go extinct

Locked away in a safe, I still have 2-Moori mediums that I bought back in 05
I'm hangin on to those babies, they could be worth a fortune someday.

I've tried a lot of tips that are as good as Moori, even better, but it's hard to beat a good Moori medium.

It's no secret, I only like selling layered tips that I'll actually play with, with that being said, I like the Emeralds and the Black Kings, I put a medium Black king on month's ago and never looked back. I have the Emerald on my other shaft, I am equally happy with that.

Joe and I have plenty of Moori 's.We will be doing cue repairs in Tunica as well.

Best Wishes,

Steve
