awesome. i wondered what shots you would include and that ticked them off pretty well. the only ones i hadn't seen were the barbox ones. there's a few one pocket shots i could think of as well (grady, chohan, rafael, ellerman) but i guess they're not as famous as these

that old mosconi match is on matchroom youtube channel, quite a trip. quite a contrast too

"One pocket" deserves an entire dedicated video series for Most Famous Shots. FYI, I have a good collection of them under "one pocket" here:

especially via the collection of great shots link.

Enjoy!

Does anybody have any video links to suggest for this? I plan to do a lot of research on my own, but it would be nice to have some help.

Thanks,
Dave

i realize this won’t really help you but in terms of the greatest shot ever i always think of o’sullivan’s full table stop shot on this final red.

Good stuff, Dave. These shots evidence both the skills and the imagination of pool’s finest players, and the fact that these shots were executed in match situations is what makes them so remarkable.

I'm glad you liked it. And well stated.

That's a good shot, but I think the last red in his 13th or 14th maximum -- left handed to the green pocket and draw/screw the cue ball back to a foot from the black -- was more impressive.

Thanks,
Dave

I'll offer this shot, executed by Ga Young Kim at WPBA Soaring Eagle in 2018. It occurred in the final and Ga Young was on the hill. Kelly Fisher was mounting a strong comeback and played what seemed to be a perfect safety. Ga Young, who has a background in billiards as well as pool, summoned all her knowledge in her two rail kick of the two ball here. Kelly Fisher never even got to attempt pocketing another ball in the match, and Ga Young closed out the win for the title. The sequence and shot occur at approximately 2:03:30 on this video, and given the size of the moment, it was unforgettable.

Thank you for posting that. I remember watching that match and being impressed with Ga Young's kicks.
