J.R. Calvert has converted and uploaded a couple more videos from the World 14.1 Championship.

Allen Hopkins v. Mika Immonen

and

Max Eberle v. Ray Martin

Kudos to J.R. Calvert, Alvin Nelson and Inside Pool for providing these for us. In case you missed any, there are a total of 24 so far. http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL14CFE4CF07559A8B

p.s. They will be streaming some of the Derby City Straight Pool Challenge, too.

i really, Really like Max Eberle. he's one of the nicest people in all of pool, and a great ambassador for the game.

i really, Really, REALLY wish they'd put him on a shot clock the minute he walks in the door.

he'd play better too; notice the pace of his 6+ rack run vs. the rest.

kudos to Ray Martin for even staying awake during that.

I agree about Max's pace of play. However, Max is a very "structured" player and it seems to fit his precision.

Thanks for alerting me to these matches, I particularly enjoyed Pagulayan vs. Hohmann part 1&2.

Hohman is just absolutely textbook.

even more videos

Two more uploads from the indefatigable team of J.R. Calvert and Alvin Nelson with Inside Pool.

Apparently the first is the complete finals match. The earlier upload was in two parts and ended before the match ended.

The Second is Mike Davis and Charlie Williams in the semi-finals. It is a long match but both are deliberate players and it is a match to 200.

At least George Fels and the other guy (I didn't catch his name) are very good commentators.

yes, krupa, the team of George Fels & JR is a brilliant combination!

it sounded like they enjoyed it as well!

Dennis, thanks once again for posting these vids. The only Straight Pool I ever get to watch, is what you post.

You're a true supporter of our sport!

Since someone has posted these videos, my 2 cats have starved to death and my wife is missing, probably left me for inattention. Oh well, only 1 more match to go.........

PS: getting pretty hungry myself....

And let me guess -- all that was just from watching the Charlie Williams / Mike Davis match! :D

J/K, I agree that the availability of these matches (finally!) is a welcome addition to us 14.1 addicts. Thank you Dennis, J.R., and InsidePool!

if you haven't watched the Pagulayan/Hohmann match (2 segments), you're missing a special treat. i know it sounds improbable, but it is one of the most interesting 14.1 matches available anywhere.

and complementing the contrast of styles on the table, you get commenting from George Fels and World Alvin. not a level playing field, but it has its own amusements, actually.
