Morra in the hotseat, Parica vs. Archer in progress

The young 17-year-old Morra is in the hotseat at Turning Stone Casino in Verona, New York, at the $25,000-added Joss Northeast 9-Ball Tour event.

Morra started out strong fighting for the hotseat with the veteran Jose Parica and shot out ahead, 7 to 1. Jose Parica couldn't swallow a beebee, but he somehow found a second wind and managed to tie the score, 8 to 8, the infamous double hill. It was Jose's break for the win to maintain the hotseat, and he came up dry. Morra never looked back and snatched it. He now is awaiting the winner of Archer versus Parica.

Jose Parica knocked Johnny to the B side of the chart earlier in the tournament. So there's a little revenge match going on here. The crowd surrounded their table, and the atmosphere was tense.

Racing to 9, Johnny Archer makes it to the 9-ball to claim the first game, but came with a miss, blaming railbird interference. Jose jumped at the chance to claim Game 1. A little back-and-forth erupted, Johnny feeling he got a bum deal from the railbird. The match continues and is currently in progress.

That's about it. This is JAM, reporting from D.C., your AzBilliards hearsay reporter! :D

I'm dying for an update:eek:

I'm having trouble getting access to my computer, a little poker drama going on here at the homefront! :p

My Ace Reporter on site is en route back home to New Jersey, cutting off my primary source for tournament coverage. :(

However, Chicago Land, this just came in. One strong player is coming your way. He was miffed at getting knocked out of the tournament at Turning Stone in Verona, New York. So he hocked his cue stick and is on his way to meet up with Mr. Ike Runnels for a little action.

Thanks for the updates Jam. You know if this strong player is going to make any stops along the way? Maybe in Indy? We always like action here.

Send him to St Louis when he is done.

I see that Archer bested Parica in the semis. Any updates on the Archer-Morra finals would be greatly appreciated!

The final is one race to 13.

EDITED:

I have no idea who won. The charts say it's Archer.
