Morristown, NJ

this is a trick question !

there are 2 Morristowns in NJ ! 1 is in Morris County , and 1 is in Middlesex county . (worse , there are 6 Washingtons - for a small state , they sure repeat themselves a lot . . . )
Assuming you are in the larger , more populous one , Morris County , you are close to CueTime Billiards in Succasuna.
Head west on 24 from the square , and after the park with the lake , Sussex ave will fork off on your right. follow this about 10 miles , and it will run you right into rt 10 .
CueTime is almost directly on top of this intersection .

It's been a few years since I played there , but I never had trouble finding action in that room . . . . :grin:

If you are anywhere close to Sandcastle billiards go there. It is a great pool hall with 20ish 9ft gold crowns. You will not be disappointed.
 
I think cuetime is closed. Go on 287 towards Mahwah and get off in pompton lakes and try Crown Billiards.

Closest good rooms, IMO are Castle billiards (rutherford, nj) & Sandcastle (edison, nj)

Sandcastle has a super tight 1pocket table and 1p is played in that room often. Should find action no problem.

Castle has a decently tight table but it's more of a 9ball room.
 
Jim...I agree with Cleary. Sandcastle is a nice room, with good equipment. The owner, Eddie, will also steer you to some action. Watch out for Al Lapena!

FWIW, the "Morristown" in Middlesex county is not referred to as Morristown. It's part of Matawan township.

Unfortunately, a great poolroom, Comet Billiards, is now closed. There are no "good" poolrooms near Morristown. If you have a car, you can drive 20-30 minutes and hit several good rooms. Personally, I like Cleary's picks.

As they were saying there are several rooms in that area, the closest of which is probably Rockaway Billiards on Rt 46 in Rockaway. There is also Crown Billiards in Pompton Lakes and Shooters Family Billiards in Wayne about 30-35 minutes from that area. Sandcastle is a bit of a hike from that area, like 45 minutes. I live in Morris Plains, slightly north of Morristown, let me know if you cant find anyone to shoot with and I can see if I am free. Wouldnt really gamble much if thats what you are looking for but am always willing to play.
