I took the above from the article on cnn.com, does anyone know what his cameo was or in what part of the movie?

As others have said, Willie Mosconi did have a cameo role in "The Hustler." I remember him in the background of a lot of scenes in the New York pool room, as well as serving as the "rack boy."

However, Mosconi was also the technical director to "The Hustler."

Similarly, Mike Sigel had cameo roles in "The Color of Money," but he, too, was the technical director of that flick.
