Mosconi article on CNN/Money website

Joe,

He is in a couple of scenes - when they put up the money for
the first match - 'hold the money, Willie' and maybe racking the balls
once(?)
more importantly - the masse draw and power break shots were executed
by Willie.

He also cameoed in 'The Baltimore Bullet' as a sort of
color commentator.

The 'popular film' reference was to 'The Hustler' itself,
a very popular film at the time

"Mosconi also had a cameo role in the popular film, which played a major part in a boom in pool's popularity. He appeared in a number of other film projects, the last of which was George Thorogood's music video for "Bad to the Bone."

I took the above from the article on cnn.com, does anyone know what his cameo was or in what part of the movie?

As others have said, Willie Mosconi did have a cameo role in "The Hustler." I remember him in the background of a lot of scenes in the New York pool room, as well as serving as the "rack boy." :D

However, Mosconi was also the technical director to "The Hustler."

Similarly, Mike Sigel had cameo roles in "The Color of Money," but he, too, was the technical director of that flick.

LOL. I'm guessing you had two threads open and you replied to the wrong thread. :D

EDIT: Nevermind, there are Bonds references in this thread. I thought you might have wanted to reply to the Bonds thread in the NPR section. Sorry...hehe.
