So what do you think will happen next year? I have a good idea but what do you think?
What should Matchroom do? What will they do?
 
They only managed to fit in 18 out of a possible 21 matches playing Race to 6. So a race to 9 is impractical.
If a 6-0 became a 9-8 that's almost tripling the match time.

Keep it the same. Take the top five players on the ranking list. The captain should be chosen by the players.

Have some swag for the tourists to buy. Get a PPV that works.
 
You could do races to 8 or even 9, winner breaks, if you cut out the ridiculous team competition and most of the doubles matches. I'd also like to see them do at least 8 ball, too. One pocket is a stretch for a European audience...Let the coaches continue with their blind draw, but give them one coach's choice changeup opportunity each day.

Format consideration:

Never give up the table when a ball goes down.

Captain consideration:

Archer/Davenport/Massey (yes, Mike Massey) - people who can be looked up to and respected.

Team consideration:

For fairness I suppose there has to be an 'earn your way on' track to make it onto the team, based upon achievement, but...

It's nice to daydream about the player possibilities and what they could potentially bring to the table...

SVB - the hardest working biggest hearted US player, bar none.

Hatch - fiery emotion (the good kind), top level play

Deschaine - strongest up and comer with major firepower - fearless

Rocket - if his game is right and he can contain himself; very hard to beat (not giving up on him just yet)

Corey - stop golfing - we need you!

Shuff - Sho 'nuff, this guy is smart, funny and can play real strong

Chip Compton - can he work it out on a 9 footer? - best hair (sorry Mike) :wink:

Yes, I like to see some young blood enjoying the Mosconi experience.

Absolutly not that is why team USA lost because they did not field the best team they could have. It should be top 3 in ranking plus 2 captains pick. Everyone can say what they want but not having Dennis Hatch on team USA was a BIG blow to there chances to win
 
Make Archer and SVB joint playing captains, let them select the other three players from a list, which includes Hatch,Moore, Dechane, Strickland, Duell and others.
 
They should take the top four american players from the BCA list and then do a poll for the fifth player like they did a couple years ago that way there is room to get some fressh hungry talent on the team. And of course let the players get together and pick the captain.

Why has everyone forgotten Hatch was the goat last year???? Bash Putnam all you want but you don't replace one for the other and suddenly win......
 
If USA will send the same team, I expect Europe to win again. Right now there a lot of European players that can take any Americans.

really??? you wanna compare putnam an hatch. not even close. ill be more than happy to throw dennis in the box against putnam. You can say that he was the goat whatever the fact is he is a much better player than putnam
