That's a train of thought that's never made sense to me - that someone can't be doing a good job until they win.
People scream bloody murder when a CEO clears a big bonus when the company posts a loss, but the loss posted could have been the best possible result in the situation. It doesn't matter how good Alonso is, you could have put Senna in the 2015 McLaren and winning the F1 title was never a possibility.
OK, so maybe US didn't win the Mosconi, but maybe they never could and a 7-11 loss including a handful of hill-hill matches was the best possible result and Mark has got the most out of what was available.
To call him "great" though? I just think it's unwarranted. Again, I think he's doing a good job, but I don't think we should be crowning him yet. And I'd bet the Mark would agree with my assessment.
