I actually prefer this for the MC given the general format and the amount of emotion that is created during this event. Normal pro tournaments, I don't think it should count, at least in the bottom two corners.

Yes, allowing the nine ball for a win on the break is much less prevalent when using a template for racking, guaranteeing all balls are frozen which makes it very hard for the 9 ball to move significantly unless another ball or the cue ball comes off a cushion to kick it in.no, not me... but I find it's much hard with the templet than the old school rack...
