Agreed SVB hasn't done much either (the two dry breaks today in doubles didn't help), but it seems to me Fedor has made a mess of some solid opportunities which Shane has not really had the chance to do.

Pool is much more popular in the USA due to or league system. We vastly out number the player in Europe but we have so many that just go to drink and have fun. We don't have the structure to develop players the same. Our system is made to make money for league not develop pros. It actual gets hard for player around 700 fargo to even play in America. Where Europe has system develop their elite and help them finically to encourage growth we do not.
Guys unless Uncle Donald gives passports to a bunch of Asians Pros you folk have almost zero chance for the next 10 years.

My thoughts are that this question has been asked no less than 50 times... And always when we are getting our heads beat in. You wouldn't be asking the question if America was still dominant, as in the first days of the Mosconi Cup.
That being said.. I "think" the Mosconi Cup "used" to be USA versus UK... And the UK didn't have enough great players to defend itself, so they basically got their heads beat in every year. Just like America does now.
BUT..... Be careful what you wish for. The Polish team would probably manhandle the USA team in it's current form. No Jason Shaw required. Multiple countries in Europe can field a full team of 800+ Fargorate players... America cannot.
Caught up watching today's matches.
Europe isn't playing any better. Still outright missing shots.
They are outbreaking USA and getting shots after the break much more.
That said....the pool gods just hate USA. Every roll goes against us.
Tomorrow I'll watch but I hope Europe either wins the first set or loses.

League pool isn't pool.....least not a breeding ground of great players. The minute you play good....you are basically shunned. League is why pool goes nowhere in this country.
I only had time to watch the Thorpe/Alcaide match and, though a few rolls were involved, it was just a case of two different classes of players.
I did see the woman dressed in white and there was absolutely nothing wrong with that outfit. She looked fine and classy.

Between Fedor and Gorst being the only 2 "Americans" that can win on the big stage, they are winning a big share of major events. With Filler gone, that will only improve.
What makes these 2 the best in the world makes them the worst team players.
Their level of focus is needed on every shot...not worrying about leaving their partner tough which you can see them doing.
They are loners, introverts and are there to make their teammates stronger.
